Part of me wants to call and ask why they haven’t started BGC and part of me is scared that if I do I’ll get put on a list of complainers and have my file put on even longer hold as punishment... sigh.

It’s been almost a month since I ordered notes so I at least hope those might come soon. Though I don’t know what information they’ll have beyond “your file is just basically sitting on a shelf untouched lol” :p

The only thing they will say is “you are within normal processing time, so everything is normal.” Or “what does the website say? 12 month... hasn’t been 12 months so it’s within normal processing times”.
I had both of these statement said to me after phoning CIC so I’ll save you the trouble lol.

But if you get somebody nice, they can sometime look further into it and see if they can provide you with info but that’s rare.

No, it’s not a bad sign— and if Etobicoke is the closest office to your friend it’s a good sign because she’ll land there in that case.

Honestly I think anything is better than being stuck in Montreal backlog...though nothing has happened on my file since moving so it’s not necessarily a sign of being almost done in *every* case. Lots of people get updates and movement shortly after transferring, though!
My friend's file was also in Montreal. Today, it reached Etobicoke. And she is worried that it is not a good sign. Is it bad?
