Thank you and happy hunting for you guys too! my spouse did medical on dec 3rd, until now it doesn't show that it was uploaded... why is that?

It doesn't say until IRCC get the result from doctor and review the result. In my case, it took about 2 weeks until I got passed the meddical check.

Hello everyone and happy holidays.
I’m new here and I would like ask something to you guys...
I am an August applicant, I got my OWP approved in Nov 20th. I always had a valid status in Canada (visitor before) and now I am waiting for my PR. Me and my wife, we really need to go to Buffalo for a few hours or a day max. Is it safe to go across the border while waiting for PR? Does anyone did that before? What do you guys recommend?
Thank you,
Rui

Hi @kristofferlloyd1990

You gave yourself the information you needed.

If your wife already got OWP then, there's no more implied status, as the OWP give us legal status in Canada. The OWP is not a travel document so, she can use the valid visitor visa that she already have, or ETA if applicable.

No one here can respond it for you, its up to each person decide to travel or not during in-land process, and it's up to the border agent decide if someone can enter or not in Canada.

However, I personally know people who have travelled more than 2 times and they were admitted at the border without any issues.
I would travel with all this documents and probably it should be ok.

Hope it helps,
André

Thank you so much! Happy Holidays! ^_^

If you have an open work permit, you can cross the border by flight which is mentioned on your open work permit approval letter. I guess you haven't read the risk factor before you applied PR, IRCC says that you can go out side of Canada during PR process but it's all own your risk. There's no gurantee that you can come back, so make sure you bring all documents that you can convince officers at the border.

If you worry too much, all you should do is make a phone call to IRCC to be sure that you are ok to do so.
Good luck!!
