Well honestly i could not sleep prolly until i get the aor hopefully all goes well

Hi @LeeTel !

I know the feeling, there's nothing we can do now but waiting. I checked many times my app and even though I'm sure I've followed the guides and checklists, theres always the fear of missing something. If so, the only bad thing is that we lose some time in the process.

Well I hope everything its ok with your app and then you'll hear soon from IRCC.:)

My wife's application requires police certificate upfront, Both Japanese and Canadian police certificate.

If I do not submit my either of them upfront, how will it impact my application?

Hi @gochaking !

Why you think you'll not be able to provide the police certificates?

The Complete Guide IMM5289 states:
The principal applicant and each family member 18 or older (who are not already Canadian citizens or permanent residents), must submit police certificates from the following country or countries with the application:

  • Current country of residence if you (or they) have lived there for six months or more.
    and
  • The country where you (or they) resided for most of your (or their) life since the age of 18.
Also:
Important: If required police certificates (or consent forms if applicable) can’t be submitted with your application, a detailed explanation must be provided explaining why these are not being provided. This will likely delay the processing of your application.

Take a look at this page to see how to get a police certificate from Japan:
https://www.canada.ca/fr/immigratio...-police/certificats-police/comment/japon.html

According to this, your wife don't need to provide a police certificate upfront, IRCC will send you a letter with the request wich you'll need to ask for the PC.

I hope it will be helpful,
André.

Hi!

App. delivered: August 16

My British husband arrived, as a visitor, on March 17th, and his 6 months visitor status was to expire on September 17th.

We were a bit last minute, so we had to send our application (OWP and PR) without the police certificate, but we submitted a letter explaining that we would send it as soon as we would receive it, and a copy of the receipt for the police certificate request.

We shall wait patiently for the AOR. :)

Hi there ,
I meant that the japanes police certificate will take quite a bit of time to get processed and to be received from the Japanese police department . So we decided to submit our application first and add it later (I attached a note in my application )

Is that ok? Or will it get returned ?

Hi @marroush !

You did it right, and I think it's totally ok. We all should hear from IRCC in a short time, we just need to wait patiently, as you said.
Good luck! :)

Hi @gochaking !

I think it sould be ok. As stated here : https://www.canada.ca/fr/immigratio...-police/certificats-police/comment/japon.html

You don't need to provide a japonese police certificate upfront, IRCC will send you a letter with the request wich you'll need to ask for the PC.

Once you have submitted your app, IRCC will send you a letter and with this letter you will ask for the police certificate. Don't worry about the time it will take to get the PC, I guess IRCC is aware about the delays for this specific case.

You won't get your app returned because of the police certificate.

Good luck!
André

Hi Guys,
I and my husband got married last year January 2017 in Pakistan.
My husband is a Canadian and I am currently on an open work permit until Oct 2019.
We both came back after Marriage and are staying together since.
We are planning to apply next month. I have pretty much completed the application by myself.
Just confused as for should I apply for an Open Work Permit? I am scared what if I don't get approved by Oct 2019. Will I be able to work after that? My OHIP also expires on Oct 2019.
Please help!

Hi @RKAZI !

I'm not too experienced here but I think you don't need to apply for a new OWP once you still have a valid one until Oct 2019. Probably your inland app will be finished by this time, if not you can ask for an extension and in between you'll have implied status, it means that while you're waiting for the extension of your OWP, you keep the same rights.

Check more experienced people's opinions and let us know, we learn together.
Good luck,
André

Applied for PR and OWP - CPC Mississauga
Application Received - July 11th (Police certificate and Schedule A submitted upfront).
Application Returned - Aug 22nd (Insufficient fees paid and no Notice of Assessment.)
We didn't know we had to pay $155 for the OWP holder fee in addition to the $100 fee for the OWP.
We submitted a T4 and a letter from my husband's work, thinking that would be sufficient. It wasn't. NoA was needed.
Both have now been done and added to the application.
Resent on Aug 27th.
Application delivered Aug 29th

Hi Guys!

I applied for spousal sponsorship for my husband on May 18, 2018. I received AOR June 29 2018. I am currently waiting for approval of the principal applicant before we apply for his working permit as this was the advise of our lawyer. Its been roughly 2 months already and haven't heard anything from them. Please advise?

Hi folks, applied for the wife:

App. received: Aug. 15 2018

Btw, I didn't have my original NoA (from the mail) on hand so I just sent a print-out of my NoA from the CRA website. Anyone had issues with this? The IRCC/CIC website seems to suggest this is an acceptable substitute but to be honest it doesn't look nearly as nice as the one you get in the mail.

Hi @Npops !

Thanks for share.
Actually, I was prone to send my app without the $155 OWP holder fee, I was confused because its not that clear so I asked advise here and someone told me I have to pay the OWP holder fee plus the $100 OWP fee.
We are in Quebec so we didn't have to send financial proofs.

Good luck,
André
