hi everyone,
im having a little dilemma here, my OWP expires this June, i am a Dec 2015 applicant, so far cic only asked for my police clearance, i did my upfront medical last year though, but for the last 5 mos that we submitted documents, we haven't heard any from them. im wondering if i should still apply for a new OWP ? I know it's still in June, but i wanna prepare renewing it just in case. ;(

You can renew it online (can provide instructions if you really need them--in a couple months) and only takes around a month lately. Being that they are working December...hang in there. You are going to hear any day!!

I hadn't heard anything since June either...then Mid-January I saw my meds pass...and been one thing after another...and now i have DM.

whenever i read anyone got dm here, i always hope that one day i'd receive mine too, its so frustrating waiting for something you have no idea when is gonna come its even more frustrating that i have a child that my family back home haven't seen yet since she was born. I used a lawyer therefore i couldnt access my cic account, im not sure how i then gonna renew/apply for my OWP. if i ask her to do that for me, that's gonna be another $1500

Even the two who got their landing appts today...their MyCIC hasn't even updated to show their app is done. I know it's hard waiting, but they are moving...in the next 2 weeks, you should see eCAS change.

What did the letter that you received for the appointment say?

My letter started like this....

"We are pleased to advise you that the processing of your application for permanent residency will be finalized at your next interview that has been scheduled for:

Date, time

Blabla...

Please bring the following documents with you:
Passport
2 pictures

If you don't land in the next 2 months...remove your lawyer and then apply on your own---or with the help of others here. That i dont know...i would think you can apply on your own. I wasn't sure. I'm sorry you got a bad lawyer. So many are out there and it's sad. Hopefully you dont have to worry about it....even by next week you may hear something. Your child is Canadian, right? No incoming or non-accompanying dependents?

I think you need to and get your pcc as soon as possible

@June 1990 I think that simpol is right i suggest you do explain your situation to cic and they would understand, are you in ontario june

Sorry if I sound little stupid but I have a question. My work permit is valid for another year but my visitor record status is expiring in the month of June this year. Should I be worried about that or I don't have to worry untill my work permit is valid ??
This whole process has been little too overwhelming that little doubt in my mind makes my heart skip a beat since I don't want to commit any kind of mistake. So I thought I might as well sound stupid ( better lol) than missing out on something !!

You should be hearing soon if you are December. What country are you from? I see you said Visitor Record. I'm from the USA and was told to keep my visitor record valid until i had my work permit. Work permit should hold you through until you land.

No, she is our only child and was born here, she'll be 2 next week and my family back in the Philippines still haven't seen her, and that is what making me so frustrated and sad thank you! I really do hope that we'll hear from them soon

Luckily i managed to get in to their line yesterday, although i didnt get enough info from the cic agent that i spoke with yesterday, i might try to call them again tomorrow and explain everything. She told me that she cant make a case file about my application since it hasnt reached 26 months yet or that it is still under the 26 months processing period.

Police Certificate ---but you already did that. ...and no you don't need to renew the owp right now. lots of time.

Yeah...as soon as you get SA...they'll be nicer. The agent even congratulated me before we go into the specifics. Just hang on 2 more weeks.
