Hi all,

I should have joined this post 3 years ago when my wife first applied inland but I will share our lengthy timeline now and give all those still waiting some sort of hope to be patient and always hope for the best.

We sent the inland application package March 10th 2012 and recieved AIP in October 8th 2012. Her OWP Arrived on December 24th 2012. May 20th 2015 we finally recieved an email from CIC stating a decision has been made and the office will contact her for her landing interview. If you do the math that's 38 months since we sent in the package till when we recieved the email and now its another waiting game for the interview. Almost there. Good luck to everyone!

Congrats on getting your DM. Hope you will get the landing letter shortly.

Thanks!

Any idea of wait times for the landing interview at the Edmonton office?

According to timesheet, anywhere between 22 to 56 days after DM. Averaging 40 days. Remember this record was last updated 2 years ago. So the Edmonton office may have improved wait time or worsened since.

Still no changes here.

Thanks sunsun, it's a long wait but thankful to God.

Guys I have a question about the landing fees, I haven't paid mine and won't be able to pay till the coming week,my question is will it affect the local office setting up a date for landing in anyway?

No worries at all ...you can actually pay your landing of $490 on the day of you a landing interview either by cash, debit or credit card before you are given a number to wait for your interview.
all the best

I have some encouraging news for a change.

I called CIC yesterday and they told me that the medicals are all done and okay. There was actually a policy change this year to consider dependents only those children under 19 instead of under 25. I think that mainly applies for non-accompanying children as those accompanying need to have their own medicals, but that was good news that this hurdle is passed.

They are now in the phase where my background is being done, which of course is external to CIC. They couldn't tell me how long this would take, but since I know this will be no problem, I don't mind. I have the impression the case agent will be ready to make a decision once this background is completed.

It would be nice if I got my permanent residence status for my birthday (21 Sept)!

Congrats on getting some progress on your application file. At least the medical hurdle is over with.

Congrats Annabell on getting your PR card. I used August 24th as the official date as that is the day you physically gotten the PR card.

I have updated the spreadsheet.

Just posting here since no new posts have been made by anyone in over a month.

My application still shows as "In Progress" online, and I have received no communications from CIC. Last I heard a few months back was that the only thing they were needing was for an update to my background. I guess that takes longer than I would think.

I hope by the time they get this they don't make me get a third CIC panel medical exam! It seems to take them a long time to address those, too, when I get them done and they get their results in short order.

Guess I still have time since my 2nd OWP expires 30 Sept 2016. My kids' medical exams will be a year old on 31 March 2016. My 2nd medical exam is now about 18 months old. I don't think it's very fair that their slowness becomes my burden. I comply with everything they require and seem to be at the bottom of the pile.

Since the CIC call centre agent said they were waiting for an outside agency to provide an updated police background, and I haven't received anything from CIC instructing me to take action, I assumed that they were handling this. When I first submitted my application, I remember having to get my fingerprints done and paying to have the FBI provide a background for me.

Was my assumption correct, I wonder? I would think if I needed to take action to get this background update, CIC would have written me like they have so often over medicals. Has anyone had to do anything to get their background update completed, or did CIC take care of this for you all?

How long did this process take for you?

Hmm... it's the end of November and there have been no posts other than mine since 9/9.

There has been no update to my status, and the Call Centre tells me the same thing each time - that they are waiting for my background to be done and they have no way of knowing an ETA for this since it's being done by an external agency to CIC. I am sure by the time they do complete this, they will again want a third round of medicals for me and my non-accompanying kids, or at least that is what the history of this process has shown me. And then when I get my meds done and my kids meds and go round and round on why the ones 18+ years old won't comply which has been done to their satisfaction twice now, they will need another background update.

Isn't there something I can do to point out how I am stuck in this cycle to break out of it?

It's also very limiting I am finding to go on with a SIN number that starts with 9. Banks don't want to do any kind of financing with me in this condition other than on a limited basis. I'd like to get out of limbo and move on with my life.
