Hey CFC123, me and you have the exact same timeline lol. Let's hope they don't take 8 months to complete stage 2. I will be waiting to see who will receive their DM of both of us, and maybe we can include Deedar, since he/she has the same timeline in that little competition of ours. My bets will be on the 2 of you lol. I wish luck to everybody, let's hope all of us 2012ians and before that we are fully done with the process in a few months time. It would be a blessing! :).

Hey Minence 777 , Migrain, and Deear, whish all of us and everyone good luck and I hope all of us get DM together and very soon!!!!( I'm checking my e-mail like crazy everyday...) ;D ;D

Olaf Better u call up and ask for this ..may be they forget or miss placed ur file ..because some people got their DM in Jan,2014 and they already got their landing interview letter yesterday...Good Luck and God bless all of us ...... :) :) :) :) :)

It doesn't hurt to call them up every week or so. We did wait a long time for our landing interview. But we started calling them after the 4 months mark. Then they told us it could take up to 6 months, we started calling again after 5 months.

Document arrived via email today:

"We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed. The Canada Immigration Centre in HALIFAX will contact you concerning your permanent resident status."

I'm having trouble remembering how to do anything, or even thinking of what I might want to do next. My wife said she was having trouble remembering how to mash potatoes.

Sep 7, 2012: Applied, meds included
Dec 11, 2012: Re-applied, having omitted one sheet of paper out of 42.
Jul 23, 2013: Notice of Eligibility for Permanent Residency, new med exam needed
Aug 1, 2013: New medical exam completed
Feb 13, 2014: Decision made letter for Halifax received

Anyone have experience with timeframes from Halifax?

Still waiting for the PR card to arrive...hopefully it comes very soon because we booked our vacations and leaving on March 4th!
I figured three months would be enough to allow for PR card to show up but it is starting to make me a bit nervous. I hope it comes next week!

Do you need your PR card to travel?

You need your PR card if you travel commercially such as bus, plane, boat. However you don't need PR card if you travel by in your own car between US and Canada. You only need your COPR between canada and us by car.

Yes my husband got his health card too as soon as we mailed the application. We also live in Nova Scotia. Saves the pockets that's for sure.

Hi Jameiri,

I am from Halifax Nova Scotia as well, I just sent my app few days ago in CPC-M. I was out of status for 2 months before I apply since my restoration was refused for Temporary Foreign Worker for being unable to get Positive LMO for LPN job. They sent my refusal letter last Nov. 29,2013. My employer was denied 3 times since they didn't comply with the new Service Canada Guidelines for LMO application. I met my Common-Law partner last January 2012 and I moved in with his apartment last July2012. So, I was qualified to apply for Common law since we are cohabiting for 1 year and 6 months already and have different kind of proofs like joint lease agreement, cohabitation agreement, will stating as me one of the beneficiaries, statutory dec. from family and friends(2) all notarized, letters from families with both names on the same address, co-occupant in the home insurance, trips and photos together from 2012 till the present. We also have changed our CRA to Common-law effective July 2013.

I wanted to ask if I am qualified to apply for MSI even though I am still out of status or wait till I get my AIP? I have the receipts and docs to prove that we applied for Permanent Residency Under Common-Law by the way or do I have to call the MSI office and see what they will said or maybe visit the office in Dartmouth?

Thanks for all the help.

We're now approaching 7 long months since DM with no word from the Vancouver office! And the Call Centre is not all that helpful. What more can be done? Is this a reasonable time to wait? Can anyone provide a telephone number for the Vancouver office responsible? Perhaps a re-scheduling # from someone's landing appointment letter? Thanks for any help!

The reasonable time to wait passed about 5-1/2 months ago!

So sorry to hear about this conundrum....believe me.

I'm also a Vancouver applicant (very early in the process) and have THIS to look forward to after reaching DM?!?!?!
