I guys, happy new year to everybody! I know I have bin quiet it cus I really do not have much to say. I am still waiting for my AIP, I have contacted my MP and a call was put to CIC still waiting. Then I got a mail today about my Work Permit, dint know if I should be worried or happy that things is moving forward so pls if anybody as an idea of what going or once heard anything like this please ur reply will mean the world:

Here is what I go in the mail today:

" This refers to your application for a Work Permit received 11/13/2013. No action is being taken
to process your request for the following reasons:
Our records indicate that you have already been issued a document by the Canada Immigration
Centre in Vegreville valid to June 24, 2014."

And do not have an idea of what document was issued to me, I cldn't call cus when I saw the mail the call centre was closed....so here I am worried sick!

So please as anybody got such a an email?

Am going crazy here, how can I be issue a document and don't knw ! Ecas still says application received no update. Just hoping I don't get an heart attack before I get the document their are talking abt! God pls help!!

It means they printed your Confirmation of Permanent Residence. They are trying to save you $150. Note they have taken no action, so you are still covered by implied status (if you had it). When you land you won't be eligible for the work permit and they should refund your $150 application fee.

So this indicates you've been approved for PR.

@nairaboy I would say call them tomorrow and find out what documents was issued. Did u get your AIP yet ? If the document due date is June 2014 that's definitely not a request for more documents because I know when they do request for more documents usually the dead line is 3 months , so I believe they have made a decision on your file amd have forwarded your file to local office that's all I can think of because I don't know exactly what documents that has 6 months due date , relax and call them tomorrow .

Next month 22 will be one year for me waiting for decision since AIP. And also when I ordered Gcms note there is place in the note that says due date is feb 22 2014 . The last time i called cic I was told my file is on final review stage and an officer is reviewing it so don't know how long it takes them to review . I know when u have an oversea dependent it slow every thing. Hopefully I hear something from now to next month. God is in control .

Hi people, getting lonely here, I`m in my 13th month since AIP and still waiting for any signs from CIC, everytime i call them they tell me this is normal, can anyone tell me what can I do in this situation??, Also my work permit is expiring this month and I cannot apply online (dont know exactly how) because keeps telling me that I need a PCC (personal checklist code) or something like that and I dont have that, I need to apply for an open work permit but dont know how, this is getting so frustating.

Sorry to hear its been 13 months since your AIP , I'm sure you're getting frustrated.. Just apply for a new open work permit by paper, If they receive it before your current work permit expires then you are on implied status and can continue to work.

The duration of a work permit is up to the visa officer. You can renew it while they continue processing your application.

I've got 2 years for an open work permit. I think you might get PR very soon so that why they gave you 6months.

It really sucks, no AIP and now just 6months for work permit . I really I want to think its cus my application is about coming to an end but I as see it now it has not even begin! What an inconsistent process! I don't even know wht to think anymore! Only can just pray and hope.

Hi everyone! I landed on the 13th of december and will be leaving for the philippines tomorrow. Did anyone try to apply for a travel document yet? My flight back is on the 5th of march and it looks like the pr card application is taking longer than normal.

Any chance someone had the same situation here?

Hello Fellows, Please Can someone tell me the difference between Access to Information Act and Privacy Act? When ordering Note. Thanks.

Access to Information = "someone is requesting information about someone OTHER THAN themselves"
Privacy Act = "someone is requesting information about themself"

For example, to be eligible for a Privacy Act request one must be a Canadian citizen or be in Canada. So if you are an applicant outside Canada and wish to request your own electronic case notes, you must authorize someone IN Canada to retrieve the notes on your behalf ("access to information").

Access to information requests require payment of a $5 fee. Privacy Act requests have no fee associated with them.
