Ok, so what documents are we supposed to bring with us? Approximately how long is the interview, and what kinds of questions will they ask?

I'm not very sure but did you ever provide your financial ties with ur spouse? Joint accounts or possessions that you both owned, If you haven't, then better being hose papers.

Congrats Migrain :)

I mean better bring those papers * clerical error

So pretty much every bit of proof we put in our application? Any idea on what they'll ask or how long the interview will be?

But we didn't apply under common law....we applied under spouse. And we gave them a copy of everything when we sent our application...all our phone logs, photos...everything. We also have a baby who is 15 months now...and we sent photos of us with him at the hospital, when he was born, and whenever we went for an outing.
Don't worry, everything will be fine in the interview, and who knows maybe you get a DM right after :)

Hi Everyone! We would like to announce that we have landed and am now a Permanent Residence of Canada!!! :D

Our appointment was at 8:15am we got there at 7am lol ... but they do not open the doors until 8am (no need to arrive earlier as everyone has an appointment) once you check in the person at the front reception congratulated us! So for everyone who has their landing date / final interview you are already considered a PR. ***This is not an actual interview but a formality to sign your PR paperwork and show ID***

They call you to a teller booth (not even an office) within 15min of your scheduled time.

Spouse must have a drivers licence & applicant must have 2 photo's and a passport.

They ask you 3 questions:
1 - Are you on Welfare?
2 - Have you ever been convicted of a crime in Canada or abroad?
3 - Do you have any dependants in or outside of Canada?

They then confirm that the spouse understands that he/she has to pay for all expenses for the next 3 years of the applicant.

They have you sign to PR forms and we were done!! Haaaaa laaaaa uuuuuuu yaaaaaaaa :D

They welcome you to Canada and let you know that you can not travel with out your PR card and Passport and that your PR card will be arriving within 6 to 8 weeks!

You then wait another 30 min and they have you sign a form for your new SIN card which will arrive in 3 weeks but the paper provided allows your to use it as your temporary SIN card.

It was a very pleasant experience and exciting and unforgettable moment for us.

We would like to thank everyone on this board and to Screech for the great info and maintaining the Charts so well! (Those charts kept us sane during this process :)

We'll let you know when we have received our PR Card.

Good Luck Everyone!

God Bless & God Speed!

Sunbrey

Congrats to all who have seen progress! And to Sunbrey on landing! I forgot about that part...the gentleman who gave me my COPR told me to expect my PR card in 6-8 weeks, as well. It was all I could do to keep myself from correcting him. In my head, I was saying, "Correction, sir, I happen to know that it will be more like 9 weeks, if I'm lucky and all goes well. Current wait time is 62 days." :-D This forum has taught me so much, I felt like quite the know-it-all at my landing appointment.

To those who are still waiting...despite landing, my heart waits with you. Your time IS coming, and it will be OH so sweet!
