WOW a Nov 12th applicant got an AIP!!!! I am Nov 29 so that is AMAZING news!

also sorry about your rejected DM Cheshire. That blows. Sending positive thoughts and wishing you luck in the appeal

A November 15th applicant got AIP too!!! ;D

Here's a FYI for those in Alberta.

In regards to Alberta Health Care, even if you have NOT received your visa (or landing date yet) you can still be added on you spouse/partner/ etc provided you have your CIC AIP letter stating you are eligible.

Couldn't get much more out of the agent re: back dated to true arival, but I will see next week if another agent can.

Also, an old sponge with bacon grease is a very good mouse trap, just sharing the knowledge.

Congrats to all who got good news. :D

I have a question. When you guys received the letter of DM, did CIC send you back your applications, documents and photos?

My friend who applied for PR to Outland just received her CoPR with her documents. I heard same things from other applicants who applied for PR to Manila. But I think I haven't heard this from Inland's applicants. Just curiosity....

Inland appliants will not get their application, documents back. It even speficied on the document checklist saying they will not be returned. Which is why, they only ask for photocopies, notarized copies, and originals only for medical/police report and any translations. This way the applicants still retains all the originals.

@ Screech

Thank you, Screech. CPC-V needs a large room to keep all our documents. :P (Or they throw them away!?)

I suspects after a specific time has lapsed, the applications/documents will get transferred/scanned to electronic format for future reference. They need these documents as evidence for those caught in PR and/or citizenship fraud.

I agree with you!

By the way, CIC updated the processing times.
Step1 -- Working on applications received on November 4, 2012
PR card --- 63 days! (Wow, it was 70 days last week)

PR cards timeline has dropped to 63 days.

WOOHOO! At this rate, if all goes well, I might very well have my PR card in hand by Christmas! What a gift THAT would be!

OMG OMG OMG....after the milionth check for these almost 11 months, there is a light at the end of the tunnel...I have receiced my AIP letter. :o ;D :D I am speechless.... I almost cried.

I do have a few questions myself, I have read every single post on this lovely blog and I have learned so much....much more than through the helpess desk calls and website... I am wondering, in the letter says I need to re-do my medicals, which I will do right away, but it didn't mention anything about police clearance from Canada or my home country....does this mean I don't have to re-do them? I mean they have only expired on JUL/29/2013 i think or somewhere there....I have tried calling but I cannot get an agent on the phone...too busy apparantly.

Also, it says on the letter that I can apply for study permit, so am I going to be considered a permanent resident status student or not? Or should I wait to get my PR first to apply for school?

And lastly...how do I get my temp SIN?

Prepare yourself, November applicants, your turn is coming... ;D

Congrats on your AIP.

Your police check is fine. No need to redo it.

Depends on what you want to pay. Do you want to pay tution at international rates or get your PR and pay canada rates.
