Guys how can i follow up with the fax that isent to scarbrough office? Is there a local number i can call to make sure they have received the requested docs?

Unfortuately local CICs are one of those places whereby they can say "don't call us, we call you".

Well I understand why this is the case. If they have phone numbers for public to use, they will never get any work done as they will be handling phones calls all day instead of working on your actual case files and helping applicants land at a reasonable time. Ha ha. That's a joke there. But seriously, they cannot the unsolicated phone calls asking "what's the status of my file" over and over.

Hi guys,
We've just called as it was 10 months yesterday and the agent is emailing them to say we've not heard anything yet. They said that we should have AIP within a week and my OWP within 2 weeks. Really hope they are correct.
also my medical ran out 2 days ago and they said we may need to redo it as it purely depends on the agent looking at it as to whether they allow the 3 months extension or not. Hoping for a nice, none fussy agent too now.
Fingers crossed for everyone before me too.

Hi, I was in the same boat as you last week. I received the letter asking me to fax all the documents over. Within the next few days, I received another letter from them indicating my interview date. So we just have to wait, it will come! If you fax over, there should be a record showing the time and date fax, keep that, it will come in handy if required.

:)

They told me to only call if the date underneath the 10 months is past when you application was sent in. Your date says November 15th on your profile info. and on the CIC website it says currently processing applications recived on October 15th 2012. You may have hit the 10 month mark but you havent hit their processing date.
They may say you will hear something in a week or so, but dont take anything as gospel. My application was recieved on October 26th 2012 and I got my AIP and OWP approved on September 11th 2013. I would base you dates off of mine.

Thank you screech!! ;D just got back from the interview! Was soo quick.. was the first one in & out! All went smoothly, except for now annoying bit...the service Canada representative was taken ill, so i dint manage to get my permanent SIN, so i have to wait 6-8 weeks( so they claim) to get my PR Card before i can get the permanent SIN. Sure makes me glad now, i paid the $200 for the work permit even though i got the actual work permit and DM letter a week apart.

Anyway, for the most part AM DONE ;D

Good luck to all those still waiting.

Glad to know everything went well for you in your landing. It is a real bummer be denied ability to get SIN number on the spot after landing. I am surprised that they didn't have a backup for a sick representative. Someone at the office should have been able to take over the job at least until someone can come in and take over.

Hi, Line.a

CSQ = Certificat de sélection du Québec

Only applicants who live in Quebec are asked to get CSQ. :)

Hi! Long time posting in the forum, I visit sometimes and read, I'm really happy things are moving again :)

I just want to give an advice to people who's waiting PR card , I just got off the phone, I asked how long is the time waiting (75 calendar days), then I asked about checking the address they have for me, the officer told me an old way old address I used to live before I even met my spouse, so I corrected my address, told her when I landed the officer asked me twice about my address so I assumed they did have my actual address, she said what I already knew that they are 2 different systems one for processing application and the other for the PR card so she said that is good to call and check about it, because that old address they had was when I moved to Vancouver and had my first work permit.
I'm glad and relieve I called, thanks to ppl here that advice to do it, I remembered reading sometime ago, to do it, you were right guys, so yes just call if you haven't it won't hurt.

Cheers! have a gd week everyone

Hi,

In the 11th month after receiving AIP I have received an email from CIC stating that I should get the fingerprints taken at RCMP/service centres. I have got the digital fingerprinting done next day at Commissionaires. They told me that if everything goes well CIC will receive the results in 2 weeks. I am curious if somebody here has any experience with this situation. How long does it take to hear back from the CIC if everything goes well?

Thanks!

two questions!

does anyone know how long it takes for an OWP to arrive once AIP is received? My friend said hers took 3 weeks to come in the mail, is that about right?

Also, how long have people experienced for the second stage approval to get the PR card/get landed status?

congrats to anyone who got their PR recently! :D
