They ask us where we last entered? No matter when? Last I came into Canada was when I flagpoled at Sweetgrass, Montana!

He asked if I had a valid passport (yes). Then asked about where I entered Canada. I'd said "Thousand Islands Bridge" on the app. That's not right. It's officially Lansdowne, though all the signs said Thousand Islands. Asked if I could send a copy of my passport, the ID page and the page with the entry stamp. Which I did. And just got a call that the fax was unclear. :( Hubby's going to send from work in the morning. (We don't have a fax machine, since they're soooo 1890's, and I was using an online service which apparently sucks.)

Passport's good through 2020, so somehow, the copy of my passport is just missing from my file. I guess it's possible I left it out somehow, though it's part of the electronic copy I kept of the app. *shrug* At least there's a human touching my stuff. I'm all tied up in knots.

Good for you!

Let us know when you get AIP email.
So excited!
Even our spouses can't feel this excitement.
My wife's face is "whatever" when I talk about my PR. :)

Nice!

Isn't it painful that Vegreville is so damn close yet so damn slow!

Hey everyone,

Good news, we got our interview date for Sept 10 at the Vancouver office!

Congrats on your landing date. Trust me. You must bring your spouse to interview despite what the letter says or does not say.

Congratulations.

When did you apply for PR?

You and your wife are in common-law relationship?

Thanks

I didn't bring my spouse. He stayed in our vehicle with our son. When I arrived I asked if he needed to be there, as our letter didn't state so, they replied no.
I landed without any problems

That's good to know. I think though that you were an exception to the rule. Several reasons can be said why spouse should attend: 1. Make sure spouse is alive. 2. Make sure spouse is not in jail. 3. To confirm ID of spouse and address.

Very true. Even we found it odd. I did tell them he was in the truck with our son but i could call him in if needed. They asked for no proof that my husband existed !
Maybe they didn't want an 18 th month old running around :)

I also wanted to say , keep up the good work
I notice how helpful you are to all on this forum

OMGOMGOMG!

I just got a call from a gentleman at CIC! He asked for a copy of my passport. I am *sure* that it was part of the app. Not sure how he doesn't have it, BUT I asked him, "Does this mean that I'm getting close to AIP, finally?" He said yes. Just sent the fax. He's supposed to contact me to confirm he received it. SOOOOOOOOOO nice to know a human is actually touching my file!!!!!!!!! Fingers crossed so hard that means some movement soon!

YAAAAAAYYY!! That is so awesome! Really happy for you! *fingers crossed for you*

And good to hear it sounds like the 2012's are rolling again...it's discouraging for the 2013's also when we see no movement over here!!

I do keep in mind that there are MANY MANY more Applications than ppl here on the forum, so it's likely that there are still other approval's going through...somewhere.... ::)maybe....

@gimmeThatPR,

You have been added to the timesheets. If any of the info is incorrect please inform me. Timesheets are all updated.

Congrats on getting your AIP.

I was able to drive for the 6 months my visitor visa was valid. But now since it has expired, I haven't been able to find one insurance company to take me. My husband's said they won't take me without a valid AB driver's license. I am in Olds. What did you say when you got your AB license to get them to exchange? The DMV I've talked to said they won't exchange until I have my confirmation of first stage.

Also, I have no proof of insurance as I cancelled it when I left the states last October. Also, did you bring your own vehicle from the US and import it? Because I sold my vehicle before leaving the states and we only have my husband's Canadian registered vehicle.

You will need a VALID visitor record (for 6 months) to get the Lic transferred.

You can still get your records from the insurance company in US. Just call them and let them know that you need your records to show your driving history. Same goes for DMV in US. But this will not work if you don't have a valid visitor record.

Hope this helps.
