am not sure i received an AOR, per se - on August 28 2012, cic requested me to re submit some info. We did resubmit the info and when we called to confirm if they received the updated form, the agent was alil confused and said everything seemed to be in order and all required info had already been submitted.

Anyway, I'll leave it to your discretion whether to include that as AOR or not.

It is not an official AOR letter but the timeframe of email fall close to AOR as you are going to get. So for the sake of updating timesheet I will use it as AOR's sake.

That's kind of funny, Nafafa, as I'm not sure we really got AOR either. We've had exactly one communication from CIC, and it was a letter asking us to get the CSQ from MICC (Québec). I kinda figure it was AOR with CSQ request rolled into it.

i kind of took that communication to mean AOR, i mean they requested further information so clearly they have received the application even if they dint use the exact words.

@ liz1986

Hi liz,

You are welcome. It is disappointing to see you wait another 6 weeks before getting your PR card. To me that is unacceptable. You have already waited over 100 days and still have to wait another 6 weeks? That's bull in my book.

Anyway, I wanted to make sure you are not in the same boat as Rusty regardinng address transfer problems. At least CIC has told you that there isn't any issues with your PR card processing unlike Rusty's.

I guess I was a little lax in my due diligence to ensure I completed the process. Once we had the landing interview I felt that the PR card was an easy step. I thought that maybe it was delayed because of the work stoppages at CIC. I guess I could call my MP and complain about what has happend but I don't think I will. We are not scheduled to go back to my wife's home country until mid December so I think I am ok. I will be calling them in 5 weeks if I do not have the card though.

Rusty,

I don't want you to feel that I place blame on you for being lax on getting your PR card process in order. That was not my intention if you did feel that way, I'm sorry. I tend to let things slide but when it comes to very important things that can affect my wife or myself, I will not let it slide, especially if I have to depend on someone else to get something done. So with government red tape BS and the like, I don't even trust them any more than I can throw them. I have to be their "supervisor" if I want to be informed of what's going on.

My wife just informed me by sending a picture of her PR card to my phone. So she got it today. Happy day for us. The process is finally completed.

Want to thank everyone for their support on this. Will be updating the timesheet not a moment too soon.

You may want to post this as a new thread post on main family sponsorship page or on a domincian republic related threads so that your question is seen by a larger audience and people from dom.republic may be able to answer your question regarding embassy in Dom. Republic.

You may want to do a search function using domincan republic as a search so that you can also find threads related to dom. rep. too and post your question there too.

Here's hoping you're right!!!!!!!!!!!! Every trip to the mailbox is a disappointment now. I try to tell myself to stop checking mail daily, to just check it every other day, or perhaps twice a week. But I can't help it. I'm compelled toward the box each day with a mixture of dread and hope.

At least my French class started today, and I'm trying to use this first daily routine in over a year to help me get back into good habits. Day one: good! Went to class, exercised, and then did chores until the husband got home.

Looks like no movement this week.......... Sad face.

I forget your husband's in the military no?

There isn't much movement in the way of AIPs but at least a couple of people has gotten DM and landing appointment. A bit of movement is better than no movement at all.

Thanks Screech339!

Everything went good, but the officer said I have to wait to apply for my SIN until I receive my PR card.
Good luck to everyone!
