Crap =(. Is there anything you think I can do/should do so I don't have to wait forever after I get AIP? I submitted my OWP in April and my PR application in January, but haven't received an email or anything regarding the OWP. I put a cover page asking them to attach it to my PR applicationa and gave them the application numbers, UCI and all that stuff.

For those that have gotten the AIP email is it a typical 'do not reply' email. I was thinking when I get AIP I could email and ask about OWP if they don't mention it, but if it's one of those do not reply emails that's not a possibility.
The email responses are "do not reply" emails. So you wouldn't be able to press "reply" back. It will likely get message undelievered response.

Nice! That's reasurring for you. I really really wish I would have gotten one of those emails, but I got nothing. I don't really know what my options are. I feel like if I send another one to be attached they might be mad if the 1st one did get attached.

I hate the inconsistency between one person doing the same thing as another and one of the people getting a response while the other doesn't.
If you do decide to resend OWP application, you are spending another 150 and get denied saying that the OWP has already been submitted. You then would have to go through hassle of getting your refund for the second OWP application back.

Thanks

I am Spanish living in Ottawa

I have seen that some people in this forum is worried to leave the country while their application is in process.
My experience is the following:
I come from a visa exempt country and I have had OWP during the entire inland application. Due to work requirements I travel abroad once a month for few days and I have never had any problem reentering Canada. Last May I went to Asia for 1 month and when I came back the immigration officer asked my 3 or 4 questions to understand why I was away for 1 month. I told him that it was due to professional reasons and he did not asked further.

I wish the best to all of you still waiting to complete their applications

Congrats on getting your DM. So far it has been 43 days after landing in ottawa office. Only one person in timesheet has landed in Ottawa. 2 others are waiting on ottawa.

If you don't mind me asking. What country are you from and where are you living now?

Thanks Downwinder for sharing your travel experience. It is usually very little risk to those who applied inland coming from a visa exempted country, with or without OWP. Having an OWP does give border agent more reason to let you back in over someone without one.

Those that applied inland from visa required countries are more at risk especially those without OWP and/or expired TRVs.

Again thank you for provide feedback to my questions. Much appreciated. Gracias.

Let me know how it went. By the way, there was someone else in same boat as you that landed in may. Was it liz1986? I would like to PM her and tell her to call CIC about her PR card status like my wife did.

Hi Screech!! Yes I called CIC yesterday and they said that my card was in production and I should receive it in about 3 to 6 weeks. I have finger crossed hoping to get it before I leave for my trip. Thanks a lot!!!! :)

No, not everyone gets this. You have to apply for it. I think it is free and usually takes about 30 days to get a response in details on your file. Usually those who apply are those whose application is way past dued. It is totally pointless to apply before your application reached AIP. It will likely come back blank.

I'm pretty sure I can use the same receipt as it just says $150 on it. But I'm sure i'll just wait for AIP, and hope that I get my OWP on it.

In the AIP email do they mention the OWP usually? or is it just a guessing game if you get the OWP in the mail or not.

Hi liz,

You are welcome. It is disappointing to see you wait another 6 weeks before getting your PR card. To me that is unacceptable. You have already waited over 100 days and still have to wait another 6 weeks? That's bull in my book.

Anyway, I wanted to make sure you are not in the same boat as Rusty regardinng address transfer problems. At least CIC has told you that there isn't any issues with your PR card processing unlike Rusty's.

Can't answer that question as we never applied for OWP. I suspects that you will get 2 emails. One for AIP and one for OWP informing you that your OWP is approved and is in the mail.

Is anybody in this forum dealing with Santo Domingo embassy in Dominican Republic? I have my son as accompanying dependant and this embassy has to give my son visa since i received my PR confirmation in May and I am still waiting.. I sent email to them but they just saying my son's application is in queue and they check them in the order that were received... Which do not give me to much insight of how much longer do i need to wait..hope anybody can give me some feedback if have been through same. Thanks!

I know so many things unnaceptable in this whole process. I would think ohh waoo this is Canada everything should be so organized but the truth of the story is that this immigration process is hell. Iam very dissapointed.

Thanks a lot you 're great!!

You may want to post this as a new thread post on main family sponsorship page or on a domincian republic related threads so that your question is seen by a larger audience and people from dom.republic may be able to answer your question regarding embassy in Dom. Republic.

Thanks for the feedback. I have the timesheet updated. Be nice if you remember your AOR date as well. You would have had it sometime in August - September timeframe. This info is not important but nice to have updated.

Thanks,

Screech339
am not sure i received an AOR, per se - on August 28 2012, cic requested me to re submit some info. We did resubmit the info and when we called to confirm if they received the updated form, the agent was alil confused and said everything seemed to be in order and all required info had already been submitted.

Anyway, I'll leave it to your discretion whether to include that as AOR or not.

That's kind of funny, Nafafa, as I'm not sure we really got AOR either. We've had exactly one communication from CIC, and it was a letter asking us to get the CSQ from MICC (Québec). I kinda figure it was AOR with CSQ request rolled into it.
