I have a question for you. Do everyone who apply for an Open Work Permit at the same time with PR receive it? Or some people receive it some people don't?

Well from what I have gathered so far, it appears that those who submitted their OWP with their application, usually get OWP, either at same time as AIP status or shortly after. Those who submitted their OWP after submitting application or after recieving AIP, usually end up waiting longer to get their OWP. Mind you, this is based on reading the timesheets, reading the posts here and actually getting feedback on getting OWP dates for timesheets.

I sent mine after I got AOR which I'm really mad at myself for. Do you think the call center would be able to tell if it's been attached to my PR application?

Honestly I think that if you submitted your OWP after AOR or after AIP, I think the application will just go to a department in Vegreville that handles OWP. That department will see that you haven't gotten AIP status and then send you a notice saying until you get AIP, we won't start your OWP application. If you submitted OWP with sponsorship, the sponsorship department will see your OWP and Sponsorship application same time and may make a note of it. Then you won't get any email from them until you get AIP and OWP at same time.

I knew that from my gcms notes which i ordered. I am waiting for my landing appoinment from Vancouver office. Have you had an appointment yet?

Oh thats why, I have not gotten my GCMS notes yet, no haven't heard from them yet. They are pretty slow right now, but I think they are catching up. Hopefully we can land very soon. I will let you know if there are updates with mine then.

Yeah. The OWP info on my timesheets are not very accurate as when I took over, there was only one date for OWP and I wouldn't know if that is when they got OWP or when they applied for it. Very little ways to tell. And since a lot of people haven't been giving me updates on their OWP, the info on timesheets for OWP are not very reliable info.

Congrats on getting your DM. So far it has been 43 days after landing in ottawa office. Only one person in timesheet has landed in Ottawa. 2 others are waiting on ottawa.

If you don't mind me asking. What country are you from and where are you living now?

I sent my OWP in on 26th June 2013 and received an email a few weeks ago saying it has been processed and I will receive it as soon as my sponsorship is approved. I just wrote across the top linked to family class sponsorship permanent residence application and quoted both mine and my husbands reference numbers.

I believe as long as it's at Vegreville before your sponsorship is processed they do them together (or at least that's what I was told by the helpline- not that they are often accurate or correct!)

With downwinder getting DM today, the timesheet has finally reached the 50% threshold. Half of the people on the timesheet have received DM so far.

Crap =(. Is there anything you think I can do/should do so I don't have to wait forever after I get AIP? I submitted my OWP in April and my PR application in January, but haven't received an email or anything regarding the OWP. I put a cover page asking them to attach it to my PR applicationa and gave them the application numbers, UCI and all that stuff.

For those that have gotten the AIP email is it a typical 'do not reply' email. I was thinking when I get AIP I could email and ask about OWP if they don't mention it, but if it's one of those do not reply emails that's not a possibility.

Nice! That's reasurring for you. I really really wish I would have gotten one of those emails, but I got nothing. I don't really know what my options are. I feel like if I send another one to be attached they might be mad if the 1st one did get attached.

I hate the inconsistency between one person doing the same thing as another and one of the people getting a response while the other doesn't.
