Hey everyone

This question is directed to people with Vancouver as their landing office: i am currently waiting for my landing interview (DM july 12). Does anyone have a rough idea on how much notice they give before you are scheduled?

Reason is, we are planning on going on a trip to Montreal in october, but we are afraid to book anything because of the possibility that our landing date will occur while we are away

Any insight is appreciated:)

Hello,
My landing appointment is in 2 days. Wish me luck! :)

Gratz Neyuli.

I am happy for you, and yet at the same time so very very jealous. I am 12 weeks and 3 days behind your timeline as far as application receipt date and yet here I sit still waiting to get my dang AIP. Some days life just is not fair! LOL

Anyway, congratz on your landing and enjoy!!

That's great. But I thought you told me that you were landing on the 23 of august. Not august 22.

Thanks Screech, we got to cic Etobicoke at about 9:00am, our appointment was stated on the letter for 9:45am. We brought our 19 month old son thinking that we would get through a little faster but it wasn't so at all. we were call to the counter at about 11am, they took my passports,2 photo, our drivers licence. the asked if i was convicted for any crimes before-no, if i have any other dependents other than the 2 on the application that was accompanying me to Canada-no, then told me initial here, there, and sign here. They then asked Kristina if she was sure about her undertaking for 3 years-me and 10 years-the girls-yes, then was told to have a seat to be called to apply for my permanent SIN number, in the end because of new changes in their system, i couldn't get the SIN because my accompanying dependents has not yet arrive in Canada. i will still use my temporary SIN until my dependents and PR card arrives as it is still valid.
Btw they will email Canadian High commission in my home country that i am a permanent resident effective today so they can issue visas for my dependents there.

I want to say thank you to all the support, information, and guide that we have received on this forum, from the beginning to end of our process and good luck to everyone still waiting, keep the patience and hope you all will be at the end of this dreadfully journey sooner than later.

Awe, i'm so sorry to hear that :(. It is very frustrating that CIC timeline is so unreliable. I hope they will speed up the process and you will get AIP soon. Don't lose hope and keep in mind that you will get to the goal sooner or later. Good luck with everything :) and thanks for sharing the good news with me.

Cheers,

Good luck to Karito and marsiangal on their landing today and becoming PRs.

Ok just to clarify... Because we have NOT received AIP as yet my husband will need to send in his OWP by mail and NOT online?

His OWP expires October, what happens if we do not receive the renewal in time?

Another question, I thougt because we have the spousal sponsorship paper work sent in to CIC that gives my husband "implied status", so whether his work permit is current or not that should still keep his
status as "implied"... Am I correct?

Ahhhh this thing is soooo confusing

Mimi- That is right. If he has not yet recieved AIP, follow those instructions and send by MAIL. We just got a letter in the mail saying my spouse has implied status and can keep working at his current employer until we received AIP. It took approx 2 months from when we sent in the OWP by mail to receive the letter confirming implied status. His work permit expires next week.

So is October 12th the new October 8th?

*We're 2 months, 3 weeks, and 4 days past the timeline's suggested wait for AIP. :(

I certainly hope not but they haven't updated the website since August 7th yet. They are coming on 2 week delay in updating website. I'm hoping that they will update it this week with new dates.
