Not sure why your previous DM letter wasn't CAPPED and BOLD. When we had our DM letter it was capped and bold too.

Owh alright, the way i understand caps and bold, it's urgent. my concern now is i dont want to waste my wait from April to August for my first confirmation of PR that has expired and start waiting again from yesterday to another 6 months. It's very frustrating, it's like i am given false hopes.

Losing the time wasted and having to get reissued Landing appointment again was out of your hand and it is still is with the new landing appointment. Vancouver office got too slow in getting the COPRs out and issuing a landing appointment to pick it up. Just hope this time around, the office will get on the ball and issue you an landing appointment in time.

It just saddens me that time was wasted and I can do nothing about it. I really hope too.

Didn't know that it wasn't a government holiday, but apparently CIC treated it as such haha ( evidence: No update today ::) ) Maybe they might change the date to October 19... guess am too ambitious :)

Lol I guess with CIC it pays emotionally not to be too ambitious........... yay!!! Its updated but it remains on October 12th

wow...we just studied the sheet.....and its been 423 days since they received our app. We are the couple that waited the longest ever, for the AIP....and still waiting. 423 days is crazy long. Can it really have been an additional document request that made them so late with our app? :'(

We just saw that there are a few more couples that has waited as long and longer......but still.... :'(

What kind of documents did CIC request from you?
Or you have common law relationship?

I applied in November.
Oct and November applicants have bad luck like you.

I checked 2012 newspaper.
As of OCt 25th, applicants get 2 years conditional PR.
So a lot of people might have applied in October.

One good thing for you is you will have full PR.
In case of me, 2 years unless I and my wife have a baby :)

Anybody who applied PR in Oct 2012 received AIP??

Let's share your info.

Hi lsj,
This new rule was announced after 25th October. So, no applicants who sent their apps before 25th knew this rule.

Did you guys already had a baby when you sent your applications? Then, new rule doesn't apply to you. Otherwise, your PR will be a conditional one.

If my understanding is wrong, please tell me.

What is conditional permanent residence?
Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has introduced amendments to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (the Regulations) which apply to spouses, common-law or conjugal partners in a relationship of two years or less with their sponsor and who have no children in common with their sponsor at the time they submit their sponsorship application.

Hi,

I have applied for PR on May 7, 2012 and received AIP on Oct 16, 2012. I am now waiting for the DM. Since my WP and Multiple TRV are expiring on Sep 15, 2013, I am planning to apply for open work permit (OWP). I am curious if I can apply for multiple TRV once I have the OWP?

I will appreciate any response and your experience.

Thanks!!

Just getting depressed. Feels like they will never get to my November app. Tired of not being able to work, not being able to drive, and not being able to have a family. And thinking that now I won't be able to go back to the states next July (it was plenty of time when we originally planned our trip...20 months from application). At that point in time applications were taking 12-14 months to complete. It will be 9 months this month just for phase one. And IF phase one is completed before the year mark and IF second stage takes the stated 8 months to complete...that will put it right at the July mark. This has gotten beyond ridiculous.

They wanted the court papers from my divorce I went through back in 1994. Even though they had the info about it in my Swedish Birth cert.

They received our app in June 2012. And just when we were expecting AIP, we got a letter from them stating they wanted the court papers.
This letter arrived to us in Dec 2012.
They received the court papers in Jan 2013
And started working with it in Feb 2013.

And now its past 6 months again.....so now the agents say we should get the AIP decision any day. So scary not understanding why they take so long with our app :'(

Gooood luck to you guys. Hope everything goes smoothly for you :) I wish you the best!!!
