Here is todaýs reply from an NDP Constituency's office:

So unfortunately you are correct; the 6 month wait time for initial assessment listed on the website is not accurate. Our contact at the call centre said they've complained to the administration about this because in reality the wait is from 9 to 12 months for initial assessment. That was what was listed on the website last year and the volume has not changed so that was a more accurate reflection of the actual wait times. Once the initial assessment is complete the file usually progresses quickly unless there is a complication. Keep in mind that there are thousands of family sponsorship cases being processed outside Canada. Outside Canada processing times can be up to 29 months, with an overall average wait time of 15 months. Peru is 16 months, so although it might have been processed more quickly from outside Canada, you would be apart for that length of time. Every immigrant application is subject to statutory requirements, including medical, background and security checks. These requirements must be satisfied before an applicant may be granted permanent resident status in Canada. This file should be looked at within the next two months.

If your documents are going to expire then it wouldn't hurt to be proactive and get them redone and sent in before the file is processed as it could cause more delays. I'm sorry this isn't the answer you were looking for, but I hope this helps.

@ Senior member...

As of August 3rd 2013, it will be expired and our Application has not even begun processing. He has been in Canada on a Visitors Visa and Implied status since September 6, 2012.

Will he be required to obtain a new Criminal Check from Peru while in Canada?
If so, What are the steps to have this procedure done?

Or since he's been here before his expiration would he just need to supply a criminal check from Canada to show for the time since his last one?

I'm not thinking about Vegreville today. It's my birthday and I'm already drunk. Praise God for another year

Just to add to what others are saying, when I spoke with our MP he said that the problem with applying outland is that the waiting time for an interview is brutal and can take couple years just to get one especially if there's a redflag like a big age difference or difference in profession. So Yes the processing of outland looks envious but the entire process is not that desirous. But there are outland cases that may not take that long so it depends on the individual cases.

Happy Birthday Jiggy, do have yourself a wonderful day regardless:)

@ Screech welcome back, missed u a lot, somewhat when u r here on the forum I feel happy haha.

@screech,
Hi ,I'm new to this site. My application was received last nov 28,2012 and since I've no update yet

I'm sorry, I mean nov 29,2012 and is processed in vegreville

Hi screech: Could you please add my timeline to the spreadsheet?

App received: 9-Oct-12
In process: 13-Dec-12
AIP: NOT YET!

I was looking at the spreadsheet but it seems that applications sent by October 19, 2012 have all received their AIPs..... I'm starting to think my application may be lost somwhere in Vegreville, given the fact that I cannot find anyone on here who applied at around the same time who have not yet received their AIP.

I'm now considering to contact CIC regarding this fact, but do you think I should just be patient and wait? I just feel that if there is something wrong with my application I don't want to take the chance to wait.

Also I've seen people here who mentioned they 'emailed' CIC, but couldn't find the email address to inquire about PR application. Could someone please let me know the address??

@jiggyzealous

Happy bday!

Thanks everyone for your birthday wishes. May I also ease to say that it seems as though CIC is currently issuing decisions on overdue and applications. My girl here at my party is celebrating as she just received an email of DM and a landing date of August 14 at the same time. She's in Mississauga too

"CIC is also shifting more work to Canada and to overseas offices that have additional capacity," a spokeswoman for immigration minister Chris Alexander said. seems like more slow processing times ahead.

Re: INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012 IMM5710 Validate

Hi,

I have a question about validating IMM5710 form for Open Work Permit.

I'm working on Open Work Permit application which I didn't send it along with my inland application.
There is a "Validate" at the bottom of the IMM5710. If it validates okay, it gives me 6 of barcodes.

I think I need to leave employer and LMO parts blank as it will be an open work permit.
However, if I leave those blank, I can't validate the form.

Would it be matter if I submit a handwritten form (no barcodes) instead of electronically filled out ?

Wonderful. Delay things even more. And me needing my OWP to help hubby with finances. I'm afraid I'll lose the people that are wanting to hire me just because of the process taking FAR longer than necessary. Seriously, how difficult is it to check paperwork and mail out an OWP?

Apparently too difficult. They probably don't even think about how difficult it is to live off one income.. Unless its a good salary. Which ours definitely isn't.. Not impressed!!
