@krisskris

You're welcome! That was done in record time! Do you really believe I'll get two in one? Please enjoy sunny Jamaica. Sometime ago iI told you that you'd spend this Christmas in Jamaica and you didn't believe . Don't underestimate the power of God

Thank you everyone, we were blown away when we got the news yesterday, completely unexpected. I hope to see more movement in here for all of you still waiting in this cruel immigration game.
We will keep you updated on whats going on, on our end as soon as we know more.

There isn't much you can do right now. The only option for you as I can tell is to apply for GCMA/CAIPS notes on your application. You would get a report back on the status on your application on where it is at now and may explain what's the hold up is. Other than that, you got no choice but to sit tight and wait.

You are not alone in this. There are a lot of people in the same boat as you. You and evryone who applies for sponsorship inland/outland are at the mercy of bureaucratic red tape.

I believe the link provided here is the form to request for gcma/caips notes. I haven't used it and I can't help you in how to complete the forms as I have never used it. Perhaps someone else on the forum may be able to provide you more details on how to get notes.

GCMS = "Global Case Management System"
CAIPS = "Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System"
FOSS = "Field Operations Support System"

CAIPS was used for outland application support for CIC. FOSS was used for inland application support for CIC. GCMS took approximately 10 years to implement, uses relational database technology and has replaced CAIPS and FOSS. Older files may still be in CAIPS and FOSS, but all current cases should be in GCMS at this point.

The Access To Information and Privacy (ATIP) team at CIC have changed the forms so they no longer refer to these systems and instead refer to electronic or physical notes. Electronic notes are the computer records. Physical notes are the actual paper documents that make up your file.

I just copied this from some other post in the forum hope it helps someone else.

a) If you have a relative / friend in Canada

As you have a relative / friend there it would cost you just $5. Its very easy. Your relative / friend will order this on your behalf and he will be the requester. It can be done by email and your relative / requester can send scan copies of everything. Your relative / friend will receive CAIPS / GCMS notes in his email.

First fill the following form but your relative / friend will sign it as he is the requester.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5563E.pdf

Then you will have to fill this consent form and sign yourself

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5475E.pdf

Now according to latest IMM5563E form you can even pay fees online if you are not living in Canada and there is no need to fill any credit card form. Pay fees online, get receipt, fill it and then scan and attach with application. Its very easy. Go to section C of the following form then follow other links given below.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5563E.pdf (See section C)

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/index.asp

https://eservicesak.cic.gc.ca/epay/lineofbusiness.do

After payment take 2 copies of print out of receipt. Keep one copy for yourself and attach other with application.

Ask your relative to provide copy of his Canadian passport or PR card and copy of his recent bill or bank statement as a proof that he is currently living in Canada

Ask him to scan everything and send everything by email to

atip-aiprp @ cic.gc.ca

b) If you don't have a relative / friend in Canada

try these websites. You will get in around 6-8 weeks.

a) http://www.caips.ca/
b) http://caipsnotes.com/index.shtml
c) http://www.caipsretriever.com/2006/03/immigrants-life-in-toronto-canada-ii.html
d) www.lawpoint.ca ($25 only)

Since you applied for OWP extension, you don't need to apply for tourust extension. Depending on how long it takes for cic to start processing your Owp extension, you may land before extension is granted. Thus may get a refund for it as you will not be qualified for owp extension once you get COPR.

Slow day today, eh?

@hockeyfan

I miss those Thursdays when we could be on the day's pay that CIC will update their website and dates would be moved. But these days are super slow. But I strongly believe that for most ppl DM and AIP will come at the same time

My MP forwarded me the reply from the Visa Office in Manila and this is what it says. I just want to share it to all of you. And also can somebody explain what the meaning of this message pls. thank you!
Didn't had a chance to talk to my MP when they emailed me this and I can't wait until tomorrow to know more about this reply. Is this a good sign?
