Does anyone around here knows if CIC local offices such as Etobicoke, Scarborough etc call people in for interviews on a Saturday?

Sorry bud. I don't think CIC offices are even open on a weekend much less call in for a Saturday interview. Interviews will be conducted on weekdays.

So it will affect my work schedule when the time comes.

So Screech I called up CIC again and spoke to a different person. They said that they dispatched out a interview letter to us yesterday and have scheduled an interview for 11 May 2013. I hung up and then looked at the calendar which said that the 11th is a Saturday, so I called them up again. They gave me the same answer that interview is scheduled for Saturday 11 May 2013. This time around I told them that it is a Saturday and the agent herself was a bit confused. She sent a message to Scarborough office confirming the day for the interview and asked us to call back by Tuesday next week.

That's great that the interview is on a saturday. But would hate for you to show up only to find it closed on a Saturday.

Congrats on getting a landing date however strange that it is on a saturday.

You could always stop by the office this saturday to confirm whether the office is open on Saturday. If it is indeed open this saturday then it's open next week. Otherwise you are going to be very disappointed.

True I am going to wait for the official letter first and then call up CIC again on Tuesday/Wednesday again to find out if Saturday is a working day for CIC Scarborough. Will keep you guys posted. If they are working on a Saturday I am one lucky person

You can always stop by the office this saturday to confirm that it is open on saturdays. Otherwise hate to see you get disappointed to get rescheduled due to wrong date issued.

Just googled canada service office at scarborough location at 200 town centre court

Their office hours are Mon to Fri 8:30 to 4pm

Not open on saturdays

There are a bunch of 800 numbers for different services but no number assigned for CIC services.

Your best bet is to wait for the actual letter to confirm the date. I don't think it will be on May 11. But at least you got a letter coming.

I think the date will be much later than May 11 if they say the letter has been sent yesterday in the mail. Way too soon between mailing and landing date. Won't give you much time to prepare for interview.

So i called CIC few minutes ago and got a very kind agent..i asked if am i that far in getting desicion made and she checked and said they are only waiting for Manila Embassy to send information for my daughter.. Ding manila,I know how slow u r...

Whenever I have called they tell me NOTHING useful!

SO true, whenever I call CIC, they just say it will take 8 months. This time i asked that whether they are doing background checks, the person said they are not allowed to disclose this information .. ??? ..

did u receive any email regarding DM? any updates on ECAS?? or you just call and find it out yourself?

I dont think the call centre agents are well trained. They can't tell u anything, especially before AIP
