So I finally landed yesterday, supposedly I should have been cheering and reveling the day but conversely I am very sad and in tears as I have just lost my Grandma. The process is just so long for becoming PR that sometimes we lose our loved ones without ever meeting them again.
Its goes without saying as how fortunate I am to find this forum , it's a bunch of friends in fact a family on its own where one being consoled, motivated and cherished all at the same time. I am so much thankful to God to provide me the opportunity to associate with people who are persistently sharing their valuable opinions experiences and knowledge.
I truly hope and pray that every single person of this forum get DM sooner than he expect and enjoy life to its max.
My condolences for the loss of your loved one Nonoo. Its unfortunate that I must offer you welcome to Canada as a new PR and Condolences on the same day. I wish I had the right words to say. I don't know how you feel but I am here to help if there is anything I can do. Just know that everyone here feels for you. Im usually up pretty late if you ever need anything.

I know we are all in the same boat here and we are all like family, but, it would be nice to know where everyone is living in Canada.

My aip was on October 4th 2012...I feel like my PR should be soon (I hope) what if I go back home now and wait there till I hear a decision made...or will they abandon the application once I leave Canada?? I knw I should be patient and I'm trying to but I'm dying to go back home and see my family =(
Abandonment is not an automatic process. What happens is that if you cannot return, you cannot attend your interview and thus you fail to demonstrate you are still living with your spouse in Canada, which is a statutory requirement of this class.

If you aren't refused re-entry, there's no issue.

yes you have to do the medicals again (medical form for inland sponsorship) and you have to get a local police clearance, just go to the nearest one and bring passport and your immigration document.

This is from the inland spousal application guideline in regards to police certificates "documents are to be provided for each country other than Canada, in which you have lived for six consecutive months or longer since reaching the age of 18."
so do we still have to get a local police clearance?!

this is for police certificates "The certificate must have been issued no more than three months prior to submitting your application. If the original certificate is not in English or French, then you will need to submit both the certificate and the original copy of the translation prepared by an accredited translator".

My friend who was sponsored as well told me I had to . We both have AIP and open work permits now and was not asked for additional documents. Its not hard to get a local police clearance.
