Patience21, I am so happy for you. You must be on top of the world. Don't worry about being updated on Ecas, you are updated on our spreadsheet and that is what really counts! Your DM makes it three in a row for the end of April. I see a trend happening. Pay attention to the spreadsheet folk. CIC seems to be about 300 days to DM right now.

Hi HME,

It's totally fine if you submitted your application without your Police clearance. I submitted mine right after I got my AIP. There's nothing to worry about.

Best regards!

Thanks for your reply, that helps alot !! I just assumed it has to be there since it was requested to be submitted with app as per the checklist

Hey Guys!

Just want to say thanks to who ever is updating the spreadsheet!

It's amazing! :)

It looks like the time from Notice that application is in process & AIP is speeding up.

Just to update our info we received our notice that our application was in process on Dec 29th, 2012

And we sent in medical + police report

Thank You Again & God Bless! :D

Quick question:

On the spreadsheet ... what is OWP stand for?

Thanks!

The regulations do not distinguish between open and closed work permits when they discuss implied status.

Regulations, Section 186(u) - who may work in Canada without a work permit:

Section 201(1): Hey thank you. This is an excellent answer to my question. Much appreciated.

and Section 207(b):

So when I read this, it sure looks to me like you can apply for an OWP prior to expiration of your existing WP and be covered by the implied consent category. However, I haven't looked at any case law and it is possible the interpretation of these sections is modified by legal decisions.

OWP = "Open Work Permit"

Is that something we need to send in an application for now or can it wait?

Sunbrey, Its best you send the OWP along with your permanent Residence Application. However, if you application is already in, you can still send it in which is what we did in our case as we were not aware that we could apply for OWP along with our application.

Sunbrey, I have updated the spreadsheet to show your medical and police clearance. Thanks for the update.

A Cic rep just made me feel like i commited a grave sin by calling without my spouse around. I was asking whether or not there was a backlog in Etobicoke. He totally discounted the question and started quoting the privacy act....i guess he was having a bad day. it will be one year on March 22 since the application was received by Vegreville. Since it was transferred to Etobicoke, i have heard nothing. I am happy for you guys who are getting decision made on the second stage and kudos to those receiving AIP. For me, this is a nightmare.

Dont worry, whenever I call CIC they just tell me that my application is going to take 1 year after AIP. They say it is the standard timeframe. which makes me more frustrated. I have a good job offer but couldn't take it as no work permit yet. Seems to be a mess sometimes. Please hang in there. you will hear soon. Dont listen to this agents, they always have bad days at work I guess..

Best of luck my friend!!!

wow :) April people getting their DM's already :D Congratz guys! We applied April 13, recieved AIP OCt 11 .. still no DM for us.. fingers crossed, hope it comes soon!! :D
