Hello All,

I am new this form. I am planning to sponsor my husband inland by end of March.

I have few questions:
His status will expire on March 13, but we already send in extend to stay application -explaining that we will be submitting our inland application shortly.
- Will this cause any issues.. that we applied for the extension before submitting the sponsorship paper work.

Do we need to send the police clearance with the application, cause we are having some trouble getting them from the Indian consulate .they are saying he needs a valid status to obtain it (his visitor permit expired as of Dec, but not his status).

He is PR from Singapore- the laws are little strict and they have explained that they will send the information directly to Canadian immigration upon request.

Just little confused if there will be any issues if we do not send the two police clearance with the original application.

Any advise would help.

Thank you.
RD

Ye it is very smart that you actually sent in an application to extend his stay. I made the mistake and didnt do that- so I am now at the mercy of CIC. As long as there is an application in to adjust his status then he is ok. You have done that already. So youre fine. Yes you need to send in all the docs they require, incluing the medical report receipt. Also, since Singapore will not send send in the police report directly to CIC, you will just need proof such as receipt that you appplied for it from the Singaporean authority. If you are doing the application by yourself, please ensure that you explain instances such as cross cultural relationship- as i heard you referring to Indian and Singapore at once. Anything that CIC will question you have to explain it to them before they ask

Some information on timelines..

I have a friend going though the long wait like all of us. She is not a member on here but she just received her AIP today. She got AOR on November 22 and sent her app in at the end of August..

Thank you for the response jiggyzealous.

sorry for the confusion. He is a Indian Born who lived most of this life in India, then moved to Singapore to work but became a PR there.
We met through a friend online, and we have lots of evidence that we are in genuine relationship.

Just another question, can we use the "police clerance form" online to obtain the police clerance at the consulate.

I am just little confused since some people send in the police clearance after a request.

Thank you,

yup the way things are going right now, AIP comes exactly 6 months and then Stage 2 is 5 months. I guess its not too bad cuz time sure flies fast!

ok..........then you're good to go. you have to get the police clearance thing from online.........and it must be notarized, including any letter you might ge giving anyone to get the clearance on your behalf. ok as long as u can show all the proof of communication between you both

NicJohn,

This is so exciting!!! Thank you for the info!!! I can't believe we can actually get AIP and OWP in a month or so... I already got used to not working lol :P

In regards to having to send the police clearances with your application, you don't have to. We were advised by CIC to send mine in after submitting the application because mine will take so long to get to me (Uganda taking 3+ months right now, Bhutan is taking more like 5 months to get).

That being said, make sure you get them in before AIP is going to arrive.

SunSun You're very welcome. My friends in Canada always enjoy my Jamaican products as my mom always send me things from Jamaica. Just leave your email addrss so that you dont get lost and out of touch in here

Hey RD ... It really depends on the country, as Sounion, I recomend you to have them ready, In my case I sent all of them (lived in 4 different countries) along with my application and on friday they asked me to re send 2 of them, the reason why they need them again its because the validity of the documents is very short, Mexico is valid only for 15 days and Spain 30days so since I sent everything in August, they need some kind up "update" (wich i find stupid since they know I cant leave Canada!!!)

So check out if its possible for you to get them while you wait and have everything ready for them ....

When I logged in this morning to ecas, they have updated my husband's file to show that they have received his medical results! YAY!!

Nothing about his FBI clearance which was was sent with the ap, but I guess that's something!

His medical will be 1 year old at the end of February though - should we redo it now, or wait until it's closer to the 3 month extension mark?

I was thinking of redoing it in 2 months so there's no overlap. Assuming we don't hear something sooner...

Is that a reasonable plan?

Happy Valentines day Everyone. We have a good valentines day present tomorrow our electronic notes should arrive again :)

Figtoria just a thought but you could always order your electronic notes in a month and then you should receive them in another month which would meet your deadline for redoing your medical. This way you can make a better educated guess as to whether your medical will be extended. We were thinking the same way as you so we decided to request the notes to see if we could find anything useful which ended up saving us some money.
