YAY!! My husband got his "It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident status" letter!!!! It still didn't say the words "Approval in principle" anywhere, but it did say that he could now apply for an OWP. Nothing about a Health Card, but I think this is what we need to get that, right?

The letter asked us to re-submit IMM 0008 because we used version 02/2012 instead of 12/2012, but at least that's a step forward, right??

Off to courier yet another document to Alberta!!!

BTW - How do people do that cool signature thing with the dates of AOR, AIP, etc??

Congratulations on AIP!

You have to have 10 posts before that option will be available to you in the control panel.

Rusty
Is there a column on the spreadsheet for date application sent/received? It might be helpful to see how long after receipt it takes to get AOR.

No there isn't because it is such a short window. I don't know how you sent yours but mine was sent by courier and it was only about 48 hrs. If you sent it by courier you should beable to check online. If by Canada Post and you registered it then you should also get an ackowledgement of some kind.

Hi imonec,

i am about to apply soon and also saw the change in the form.
How did you manage to fill it in? The form requires an electronic signature after filling in. Which i did, but i can not save the filled version.
Did you print it straight away?
i always considered myself pretty good with computers but not this tme i guess :D ;D

Confrentis...

I printed it right away... if you want to keep a copy then scan the printed version to .pdf.

hope this helps.

sorry for the late reply...

Thanks missCanada! Although i think i may have sent the additional docs to the original address and not the additional documents address... Anyways.

Here's just some information as I know this came up many times...

It is recommended not to leave Canada while you have an INLAND application in process, as you may not be eligible to re-enter and your inland application may be discarded.

Well I did just that this past holidays and re-entered Canada on Tuesday Jan 8, 2013 with not even a question as to what/where/when I left and if I am still employed etc...

now I know this is purely because the immigration officer had a long day or maybe because there is nothing wrong with leaving Canada while you have an application in process as long as you have status in Canada. I am still on a valid work permit...

Rusty,

I received an email from CIC on Dec 3, 2012. It didn't say in process but i think we can update the spreadsheet with that...

thanks
