Just my first post as a permanent resident of Canada after my landing interview yesterday. It all went OK, the officer was about 30 min late for our appointment. I always hear about many couples in the room, but I didn't see any. There were about 10 people in the entire waiting session and they were either alone or with parents or children. The agent asked the traditional questions on criminality and dependents, and that was it. I asked about applying for a PR card on urgent basis, since I am traveling soon, but she said "there's no such a thing as urgent PR, that's only for passports." I felt like taking my phone and showing her this: (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/pr-card/apply-urgent-processing.asp), but decided not to. She said once I receive my PR card I can go and get a SIN, and also gave me a guide that reads "Welcome to Canada" and a document on residency obligations and such. I am happy it's all over and wish you all the best of luck!

Congrats MDNA,

WOW - only 8 months! That is amazing!

For those that did medical after receiving AIP.
How long did it took you to see Medical Received or something on ECAS (if anyone can share)?

When you mail in your receipt proof, did you send originals and keep a photocopy as backup or just mailed a photocopy of it?

I suppose you add a letter/note to cross reference the medical with your UCI#? Anything else I should add to help them cross reference the stuff better or easier?

My wife finally got her medical done last week after she received AIP on oct 9th. So I am planning to mail in her proofs soon.

Thank you
Walter

Good Evening all i hope the end is near for all i hope it wont be much longer now take care all

I'm very jealous of above member :) and congrats. on his PR. On the other hand very! annoyed that I have applied at the beginning of February and still waiting to hear. It is almost 10months. Same visa office is in charge of my application but i can not understand why other peoples application resulted but not mine. >:(

The date you became common law is one year after you started leaving together

I see that CIC has moved it's date to week of May 21st. Here is to hoping that we see some more May people get AIP's! June you are right around the corner!

Hi rossal,

Yeh even I am thinking of calling them, its so frustrating to keep on waiting. The process was moving faster, but now it has again slowed down. Have you received your AOR?

Canham 2012

Yes I recieved my AOR last week and my application was recieved July 31st. Check out the spreadsheet. The link is attached. If you want to be added send me the details on when you sent in your application.
