For the SIN or landing?rifat said:Which office did you go too I mean which city??
I honestly don't think they will actually go around knocking on people's doors in the applicant's home country. That is too much manpower work to do that.lounge said:I really need some clarifications here, i believe no question is stupid on this forum. A friend of mine was telling me yesterday that for background checks as per inland apps, CIC will need to go back home and in fact knock on doors on people included in the application like parents and may also go to all the addresses we lived. Well all i told him was the only thing i know from this forum is background check constitute: security, criminality and medical. I just want to know if i am right.
Thanks all
Thanks Jen 1975. hopefully your landng date comes soon. We involved our MP since the 8-month mark passed for receiving DM. Since that time, things progressed very quickly.jen1975 said:Congrats to your wife Migrain , my DM was dated the 7th & I am looking out for that brown envelope everyday.
I called the call center and was told it could take 12 weeks by one agent and 4 months by another. :-\
Again congrats ....... , I wish I could hear something very soon......... :- :
Congrats to you!!!!!Migrain said:My wife landed at CIC Ottawa today. There were 5 people in line in front of us. Started serving clients at 9:10. We were done by 9:50. Standard questions were asked. A note of caution, one client did not understand the question posed by the agent (Have you ever been denied entry into Canada). Since she couldn't answer the question, she was told that she couldn't be processed today and would have to re-schedule her landing. Please ensure that if comprehension of English or French may be a challenge, then bring someone who can translate on your behalf.
Since there were no Service Canada or Service Ontario offices at the CIC building, we had to go to another location for permanent SIN and OHIP. Received both without incident.
Can't believe this process is nearly over. It's been a long voyage (21 months). Thanks for everyone's assistance and support. Special thanks to Screech for maintaining the spreadsheet.
Will advise once we receive the PR card (agent said it should take 8-10 weeks).
Congrats on your wife becoming PR. I have updated your status on spreadsheet.Migrain said:My wife landed at CIC Ottawa today. There were 5 people in line in front of us. Congrats qosmio on getting your PR card. I have updated your status on spreadsheet.qosmio said:Hi guys, just to let you know that I've just got the PR card in mail today, exactly 60 days . So happyyyyyyyy! Now I can apply for the SIN and get back my Driver License Card, hehe.
Thank you for all of your encouragement!
If the passport was held by CBSA, it is released to CIC once the application has been approved, so the landing officer will have his passport.screech339 said:That is a good question to ask. I really can't say as I really don't know the answer to that at all. Can't say one thing or the other.
