Congrats ArchRivalNeo!

I've just received my email from CIC Calgary today as well. Your wife and I have the same date 23Apr :D
Now I just have to check if my husband can take a day off on that date or not. He hasn't known this good news just yet coz he's already sleeping in other city lol ;D

Congrats! Deedeedar! :D Your waiting game will be finished soon.

Congrats on getting a landing date. You will get your COPR at the Calgary office. As for getting a permanent SIN, I don't think the Calgary office has a SIN processing booth at the CIC office there. You may have no choice but to wait for PR card before applying for SIN.

Hi Screech and ArchRivalNeo!

An applicant who landed at Calgary last month got a permanent SIN after the landing interview. (She had an OWP and a temporary SIN.) I guess ArchRivalNeo's wife and Deedeedar can get their SIN at the landing date.

That's good to know that there is a SIN processing booth at Calgary office. I wasn't aware of Calgary office having one.

Another info.

An applicant who landed at Vancouver two weeks ago was not able to get a permanent SIN at the landing interview. She was told to wait her PR card to get SIN.

Congratulations to everyone who got great news this week!=))
Only Wednesday, so still 3 more days for the rest of us to get some good news.

Side note: does anyone know about the process in the Maritimes? I assumed that landing is done in Halifax, but I might be wrong.

Halifax is the landing location if the applicant lives in nova Scotia.

It is also for PEI. Couple of my friends had to make the pilgrimage. That is why I assumed it was for the whole of the Maritimes. But I guess it is just PEI lumped with NS and everyone else has their own offices =))

Doesn't make any sense. PEI has its own CIC office in Charlottetown on 191 university avenue. But it does say on website that there is no in-person services available at that location. What's the point of having an office there if there are no services available there.

Oh, you've never lived here =)) PEI is a special province hehehe. We also have an international port full of CIC officers. And no, no one can land there either. (whispering voice: should be part of NS anyway)

It would have made more sense to lump PEI with NB considering that the confederation bridge is between NB and PEI and the distance to Fredericton is the same distance to halifax to PEI. Now you would have to go through 2 provinces to get to halifax?

Yes I landed in Edmonton 3 weeks ago, How long it takes? It depends. From AIP to DM, around 6 to 8 months, I got my DM 6 months after AIP, then got my landing letter 2 days after DM. From DM date to landing date, it took in my case 30 days exactly.

Thank you and Good luck.

Thank you for your reply SEPTSIXHUIT.

WOW.. it's actually very fast...

So... Canada place in Edmonton flooded last week..I'm assuming I will go for my landing interview there?

I don't know what's the delay because of this... :-X

and last time was the STRIKE that caused the huge delay....

lol!! There is always something happen in between..

I am looking forward to the brown envelope!!!! :D

The list of local offices is on the CIC website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/help.asp

From what that says it appears there are no in-person services on PEI, but there is a local office in NB (Fredricton) and NS (Halifax).
