hello folks i recently got AIP dec5 through etobicoke office and wish to apply for a open work permit online since my status as a visitor (from the us) has expired more than 90 days (my daughter was just born) ago how do i go about applying? thank you in advance

If you go to the cic website and go the the apply online and follow the steps,you will have to fill out a series of questions,which some you will have to lie a little about status to go further on the questions. That's what I found when I was doing it and I was the same with run out status.

Hey guys,

I landed at Scarborough yesterday afternoon with a kind and nice officer that interviewed me.

Now I am excited to get my PR card to arrive within 8 weeks...hopefully the holiday would not make this delay too much...

This forum has been helping me a lot and I sincerely appreciated it.

We have been checking our mailbox everyday the last few weeks and no sign of it yet...
Just wondering how long it will take the card to arrive.

I landed October 10, and no PR card yet. I've called CIC twice. The first time, I talked to a crazy man who apparently totally made up stuff to tell me ("your card is being issued in Nova Scotia as we speak, it'll be there by the end of next week at the latest, call back if you don't receive it"). The second time, I spoke with a nice, matter-of-fact lady who told me what I had been told before was not at all true (they have no way of knowing if a card is "being issued," only if it has been issued already or not), and that she couldn't tell me anything else.

I'm traveling to the U.S. this weekend to visit family for the first time in nearly a year and a half. Fingers crossed that I'm able to travel back without a PR card without a problem!

I'm traveling to the U.S. this weekend to visit family for the first time in nearly a year and a half. Fingers crossed that I'm able to travel back without a PR card without a problem!

Fortunately we r done with our landing today and now can have the real feel of holidays

Had our interview at cic etobicoke last sept 12. Visa officer told us to wait for 3weeks for a response as our case according to him is complicated.it took us to wait 3 long months of sleepless nights and last dec10 i received a call from a different visa officer for a phone interview who asked the same questions. After my interview i asked him how long will i wait again as i want to have peace of mind,he didn't commit for a time frame but i told him i hope she can make my christmas a "merry" one. Finally on dec24 3pm we received our AIP+OWP in the mail. It was indeed the best christmas gift we had! Merry Christmas everyone.

Psalm91... we wait and pray with you. (I can say knowing and experiencing the longing for immigration really helped me reflect about waiting this Advent season!!!) Joy is a comin'!

We got AIP/Workpermit Sept 20th. with a request to redo medicals. We did them the next day and the ECAS has been updated as medicals received for the past few months (I would say it was rather immediate)

Today, December 27th, We received a letter dated Sept 20th but postmarked December 20th!!!! It said we needed to redo the medical and get it to them by Dec 19th or our whole PR application would be cancelled!!!!!! UGHHHHH... I opened it to late to call them. I am extremely disheartened. I had really hoped this would be a Decision made and landing appointment. What does this mean? I am not really sure.

Any advice from someone who has experienced this?

Happy Holidays to everyone on this forum. I have been quiet since I was off work for holidays since Dec 18th. I couldn't do any updates until I get back to work in the new year.

Hope everyone had good holidays so far.

Yes it is not the norm for me to be quiet for the last 2 weeks but it is the holidays and I figured there be little news coming from CIC since they are likely to be on holidays too.
