It's my understanding, after receiving the DM letter, the local office (in our case, Vancouver) would send out a different letter with instructions to pay the right of permanent residence fee (along with appointment time, etc); is this correct? ... You don't actually need to pay it before they'll send you an appointment, right? Has anyone received their appointment before paying it? Can you pay it at the time of your appointment? What are the payment options at the Vancouver office?
If I'm not mistaken, I think the DM letter will also list any fees not paid such as RPRF. Usually when that happens, people tends to pay the fee online rather than wait for landing to pay the fee. I don't think all landing offices allow payment on site. Some do, some don't. Because of this variation I would go with the online approach to be safe and show the receipt at landing.

We had a couple of people being told that some offices won't assign appointment until all fees are paid. Another reason to pay the fee after getting DM letter online.

There is no payment option at the Vancouver office. When my appt was scheduled I was told it has to be paid at least 5 days prior to the appt date.

I hope it is not a faux-pas to post a link to my question here, but I wanted to ask you experienced 2012 Inland Applicants this question, but thought it would be better started in a separate thread.

If any of you Inland Applicants have experience travelling by air within Canada while your Application was/is In Process, or have any knowledge about that situation, would you mind to help me out with my question here:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/air-travel-within-canada-while-in-process-but-no-hard-copy-aor-t167871.0.html

Pretty please & Thanks!

My wife had no issues flying between cities inside Canada. Just showed them her driver's licence and picked up tickets and away she went with 2 kids. As long as you are flying within Canada, you are going to be treated the same as everyone else who fly within Canada. No immigration issues for you to worry about. As long as you show photo ID showing who you are, you can fly within Canada.

So it wouldn't matter if you were here illegally for example? As long as you have your passport and are already in Canada??

Don't think they would know if you were here illegally. They are only interested in seeing your photo ID. They don't swipe your passport to pick up ticket if you used passport. Just give them reservation code, show your ID and they print up the ticket.

Usually Thursday tends to be the day the website gets updated with Wednesday as day of last update. Not always the case. Some days they are slow to update. Other days, updated on Wed.

2. We started processing your application on October 8, 2013.

I got AIP email on Oct 8.
So does it mean cic started step 2 for my application?
