Good morning Inlanders

Just wanted to share an experience... few months ago my husband had to leave Canada because family emergency during inland PR application (in process)..and he has returned with no problems at all ... he came back through Calgary port of entry..... of course they asked what was your purpose of visiting Canada... he said visiting wife... they asked for my name, date of birth .... He also showed them returning ticket... they opened the file seen we have application in process ....they were also joking around with him... stamped his passport told him it's valid for another 6 months.... I have to say people exaggerate on forum a little bit .... Key is being honest say how it is... it's not against the law... I'm sure a lot of people left the country and returned with no problems... and also people that come here on forum asked all possible questions about coming back but once they came back they never came to forum and said they have returned successfully. My husband comes from visa exempt country which is probably a plus...I can see people that need visa being denied.... Just wanted to share my experience.... If anybody has more question feel free to message me.

Here is our timeline
September 09 ,2011 – Application sent
November 16 /11- Application sent back to us missing info...
November 26/11- Application received
September 07/2012 – AIP
Also my husband needs to re-do his medical exam because old one expired.... And they asked for recent police certificate.

He has medical exam on Tuesday and I'll be sending everything the same day hopefully it won't take long after that for DM.

Best wishes from Winnipeg!!!

Ps. Its snowing here already!
That's good to hear for sharing some information on your experience.

By the way, when you're sending in additional or updated information to Vegreville
Did you had to make particular reference to your application?
Or did you just use your (sponsor) UCI or your husband (applicant)'s UCI or maybe both?

My wife (applicant) will be doing her medical examination soon and we want to send it in to help with the processing time. She was pregnant before, so we couldn't do a medical exam at time of application, but now she can do it. So we are wondering when we mail the Medical A form (IMM 1017SCL) to Vegreville, will they know that form is for the PR application directly? I don't recall receiving any application case # or something.

If anyone can give me some info on that, it would be great. Thank you :)

Did everyone do it at a family doctor? Or there are a list of approved doctors that can do the medical report? Do we just go there and ask to do a medical report, or we need a form from the government?

Knowing that we are getting close to the 8 months mark really gets to our nerves haha.
I don't check ecas everyday, as we know that some IOs don't really update the ecas and focus more on processing the application. I check it on a weekly basis just to see if anything comes up.

Hoping for the best :)
I believe u need to make an appointment with one of the nearest doctors in the list in the 1 st link provided (in canada select north america, canada, and the nearest location to you) below, and bring this form in the second link along with you. I think we payed somewhere around 300 when everything was finnished. They will take blood urine and X-rays.

Hi,congrats for your AIP! yeah,a friend of mine too got her AIP on Feb 2012,she has to go home to the philippines for her wedding,of course with her 1 yr old kid and her canadian husband. she got also a letter from CIC Edmonton for her landing appointment on March but she wasn't able to do it since they have to fly to the philippines on that day so they went to the cic office and left a letter explaining why couldnt they make on the exact date. when they returned here in Edmonton after the wedding she called the CIC and ask for her landing date.. she finally landed on May and got her PR card after 6 weeks.

If it is a medical ur doctor will send it in to Ontario for u where vegreville will access it from computer. The doctor will give you a document for proof your medical was done. You can send that to Vegreville and this link might help in how to do that http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t10903.0.html;msg38373#msg38373

Thanks you guys!! Really appreciated!!

One more question: My husband was allowed to stay here six months when he entered. This is coming next December. As I said, I am sending the application for a work permit in the next couple of days, but I am affraid won't be issue before that time, meaning he will be out of status by December. My question is: should I sent an application to extend his stay together with the work permit application? How does that work?

Also since I don't have any ID client or anything yet, what should I write in the letter, so they know belong to us?

Thanks again!!

karito and wolnila, when did u guys send ur app, ication? Omg, congrats. Im praying here, im march 22. Did u get ur ecases updated? Or just the emails? Or mail... .?
Hi Moeytja

Answering your question :) I sent my application march 13th was received March 16 and they start the process July 16th , my boyfriend (the sponsor) got an email about AIP, I got an email too the same day almost same hour that was October 2th yay!!!! I applied for a work permit the email said basically first stage was approved and now they need to check medical, background etc it said too my work permit was approved and I will get it by mail soon, now the ecase hasn't been update to this last info yet, my boyfriends ecase just show as "in process" an my ecase just show "received march 16th".

I know it's frustrating all this wait , but be positive I'm sure u will get great news soon.

Guys, Do you think that Client History Update Form slows our applications down?
Any additional information exchange with CIC will slow things down. The ideal application from the perspective of processing is the one that is most frustrating to the applicants because they don't hear anything:

- You might get an AOR (that doesn't slow anything down)
- You get sponsor approval (AIP)
- You get applicant approval (Second stage DM)
- You hear from the local office about landing
- You land

But sometimes it does take extra communications. Let's hope that's the only one in your case so the slowdown is minimal.

She needs her UCI. The call centre can give that to her.

That's pretty amazing, actually, as back in March the expectation for AIP would have been February/March 2013.

Thank you for your reply, computergeek! I don't know what the usual time for attaching this form is, but hope it is not 3 months! I am going crazy, doing nothing all day, waiting for my document and my normal social life to begin( school, work...etc).

Oh, I know all about waiting. I spent 39 months from my initial application back in June 2009 to PPR on my second application last week. It can easily drive you crazy if you allow it to do so - there are days when I wonder if I have gone over the edge anyway, and each step forward doesn't bring as much relief as you hope, because until it's all done there's this big question mark hanging over your head.

All I can do is suggest to find other things to do to occupy your time.
