The reason I'm asking is that where my wife is going, there is a canadian consulate but the embassy is in another country. So if my wife were to fall in same situation, can she apply at the consulate instead of embassy.Django_unleashed said:Canadian embassy
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think you are illegally working right now. I had a PGWP that expired June 2013 and had to stop working because it expired and I didnt have AIP yet (which should come with an OWP that I submitted). PGWP's aren't extendable therefore you can't work on implied status while waiting for a different type of work permit.gimmeThatPR said:My PGWP expired last year in september and I had applied for an OWP with my spousal sponsorship before the expiry of my PGWP
and my lawyer said I am on implied status and I havent got my AIP yet and its almost a year since I have been working on implied status.
And also since I qualify for CEC .
I have applied for CEC as well in the meantime.
Hi,my application was received on the same day as yours....November 16th!!!!....Mimence777 said:Hi Screech39, I am sorry I haven't updated the rest of my info with you, I come from Bulgaria, I live in Niagara Falls, I have applied to Vegreville office, hoping soon to get an AIP, the process is really draining, and I may be passing an opportunity for a promotion/new job very shortly too thanks to this long process. :'( How come they were moving so quickly at the beginning of the year and then they stopped (I know about the strike and all but...did every officer stopped working I wonder?!?)...just venting...I congratulate everyone on the DMs and AIPs and interviews and I wish for all of us that are still waiting a quicker process with less setbacks. Anyone who applied in November (16th) I will be waiting to see who gets their AIP first . Best of luck to everyone!
A foreign mission (which includes Consulates and Embassies, plus High Commissions and the odd business affairs office) with immigration services can issue a PR travel document. It does not need to be an Embassy.screech339 said:The reason I'm asking is that where my wife is going, there is a canadian consulate but the embassy is in another country. Yeah, because they gave up insisting that Step1 took 6 months. But, 10 months is the right information. I hope that the date moves forward from 12th to something.nrajani_99 said:They have changed the initial assessment to 10 months ..
Waoo that's great!! Thanks for the answer!!Django_unleashed said:Hi guys I received my pr card sometime towards the end of july, around the 20th. And for those of u wanting to travel before receiving their card, you have nothing to worry about. I travelled to my country in June and stayed for a little over 2 weeks, applied for pr travel document which was given to me within 2 days. I had no troubles entering Canada with that document.
Thanks Computergeek on your answer. They have a 3rd party company called VFS Global company in Albania that is approved for visa/travel document processing however they charge $95 to use their service. It is hard to justify spending $95 for a $50 travel document paper. I would advise my wife to use the consulate first and only use the VFS Service as last resort.computergeek said:A foreign mission (which includes Consulates and Embassies, plus High Commissions and the odd business affairs office) with immigration services can issue a PR travel document. Hi anndreea, anndreea said:Hi guys. I came in Canada on November 1st 2012 as a visitor, then I started the whole process with the sponsorship and PR. ( my husband is my sponsor).
I applied on December 3,2012 at Vegreville,Ab.
On July 19,2013 I did my medical exam. I called yesterday at medical clinic and they told me that they send the medical results on July29,2013.
Now I am waiting for a sign from the immigration office.....I am not sure how much it's gonna take or... what's next?
In general the decision is made at interview ?
