No, at the time I wasn't aware that i could have. It did work out for the best though because we found out we were expecting shortly after submitting the application, so I wouldn't have been able to do much working anyway.

Congrats on your future addition to your family. I know what you mean. There wasn't much point in us applying for OWP with 2 kids under 3 in tow. She rather stay home looking after the kids until they go to school.

Congrats on receiving your landing interview date. When did you receive your decision made date and where are you landing at and on what day? What country of origin are you coming from and where are you living now?

Lucky for you. You managed to avoid the heffy medical bill. Have heard that some were not so lucky and end up with a huge bill.

I know , I used mid-wives for my pre-natal care as well, so again I was able to avoid out of pocket expenses and thakfully I had a pregnancy free of complications.

I have asked switchtofrank for more info on his timeline as he/she has been absense to the forum for a while. DM date, where landing office is, what day of landing, etc are not present. Hope to hear from him/her on a response so timesheet is updated properly. I cannot place him properly until I get further info.

Hi everyone,

My husband called CIC this morning and he asked why CIC has been working on applications received on October 8th for 7 weeks. The answer; because there were a lot of request in October. He also asked why CIC still shows that Step1 takes for 6 months. The answer; the number of months is not reliable.

??? :'(　Their answers were not something new. Calling CIC might be wasting time.

I try to remind myself that I'm lucky. I'm lucky to be able to live with my husband (well, at least in our home, haha, though he's gone half the time...that's just military life for ya, though, and it would be the same if we were both Canadian citizens). I'm lucky that I'm given an opportunity to emigrate to his nation, so we can be together. I'm lucky that I never made any bad enough decisions in the past to make me ineligible for permanent residency here. I'm lucky we can afford to live on one income for the year or more it takes to get through this (well, and AFTER that, too, as I don't foresee becoming proficient enough in french to work here). I'm lucky to have met my best friend and greatest love, and even though I'm a bit stir crazy, and frustrated, and nervous about the whole thing, we have it better than so many people. (Remind me of all of this when I'm tearing my hair out in frustration again in another few weeks, hahahahahaha!)

I have a friend who is in Toronto, and sponsoring her husband, who is in Colombia. They submitted their application in January of this year, and a couple of weeks ago, he got the request to get his medical exam and police background check. So there may be some hope for any outbound applicants... unlike me, as I´m sponsoring my husband who´s in Canada... submtted our application in January, 2013, received the LOA in end of January and are since waiting for some news very frustrating indeed!

Hang in there! this is also a nice ´support group´it is nice to know that are people who can relate to what we are going through.

Aww, glad it helps! I'm so glad I found this forum. My husband doesn't stress quite like I do, so it really helps to have a place where people understand the frustrations. Best of luck to you and your wife!
