I am not worried about my PR card , my visitor visa is at my lawyers office.
I have a work permit on me so i never picked it up or asked to be mailed to me.

In the landing appointment letter they ask for every immigration document issued.
That is the problem...

Don't you mean your vistors record? Isn't your vistors visa afflexed to your passport anyway?

If by vistors record, then it would make sense as they would want to destroy all visitors visa related documents at PR landing.

Congrats i4o on your DM and landing date. I have been given the torch to carry on updating the timesheet. Your info will be updated shortly.

If you could provide me where your landing office is located as well as where you are living and what country of origin as applicant is coming from.

Thanks

I'm surprised you have gotten a letter from them. We have been waiting over 6 weeks since DM for a response from etobicoke

From what I read in the past online from other sources, CIC is not likely to give TRVs to those in process of PR to canada. The purpose of TRV is to visit canada temporary. The fact that the kids in jamaica are in process of staying in Canada permanently, issuing TRV defeats the purpose when the kids are not coming to stay in canada temporary. The customs are likely to deny them entrance into canada as process shows they are intending to stay permanently not temporary.

I may be in the wrong in this but it is doubtful that they will be issued TRV.

Generally this is true of minor children. If the visa office finds them inadmissible due to the expectation that they will not leave Canada, one can request a Temporary Resident Permit - I just answered a post from someone whose child was on his (or her) third TRP and the visa office had refused the application due to a communications/address problem (odd given that the TRP and other communications got to them).

See OP 20 and IP 1 for information about Temporary Resident Permits.

I have a question concerning travelling after COPR. I already made plans, bought my ticket to travel next month. However today at the cic office, my interviewer said i would need my permanent card to travel, which takes 1.5 - 2 months for me to receive in the mail. She suggested i get a permanent residence travel document at the consulate in nigeria where i'm travelling to. Do you guys know of someone that has used the pr travel doc. Before? Is it advisable?

I should think they're process in receiving order. My friend and sister (sister is a minor) are being sponsored along with their mom's inland application. Their file went to Jamaica June last year. Did medicals last August too but they only got passport requests last week. They'll get them back tomorrow
Hi Jiggy, do you have any idea if it's the same with non-accompanying minors? Do they follow the same timeline as accompanying minors?

I am not sure as nigeria is not a visa exempt country. If you have to go back to nigeria before your PR card. You got two options as far as I can see. One is to have your spouse to mail it to you to nigeria if your spouse is staying in canada. If you're staying a long while.

Option 2 is to apply for a Permanent resident travel document at canadian embassy in nigeria so you can return to canada without PR card.

I think those are your options.

@ntonchu
It doesn't matter because even if they're not accompanying you they still have to be medically examined and assessed by the Canadian medical officer of your region. All this takes time and lengthen your wait time

Thanks in advance..

@yffAm

Their application went to Jamaica last year June. Their mom lives here in Canada being sponsored by her husband. She landed about a month ago

So meaning the Mother landed first before they requested the childrens passport?

@yffAm
Yes. That's correct. He just told me his mom received her PR card today
