I don't know why i didn't even think about before.
But I read that some people apply Outland even if they live as a visitor in Canada.
Is it really possible? Now I think it could take way less time...
But at the same time I quit my job in my home country, moved out from rented apartment.. i can't live with my parents again))
Plus what if CIC sees that a person lives in Canada and rejects Outland application or tells him/her leave the country...

Inland is only available if you are living in Canada.
Outland is available if you are living anywhere.

CIC is geographically challenged. The Ottawa office is "outside Canada".

But CIC Call Centre and website never mention that Outland is possible from anywhere. Generally if AIP and OWP are granted after 6 months deadlines for both types are almost the same. Except it is risky t travel.
Anyway, I already applied and being upset is not gonna change anything.

We (I) got the in process email today at 1:06pm PST!!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! We submitted Nov 6th which means his Crim check that was to expire the 8th will still be valid! We are elated!!!!

Hi there, I am being sponsored by my husband. We sent the application in feb,2012 and on ecas it says it was received on feb 8th and they started processing on May 23rd.In September we received a letter for more supporting documents on our relationship, pp copy and police clearance from my country and also to update my kids' info on the generic form. On another letter they asked me to go do medicals again as the one on file had expired. I did all and mailed by Oct 25th and my kids also did their medicals and I sent the copy from the designated doctor in my country to cic vegreville. Since then I have not heard from them.
My question is this:is it going to take longer for me to get my AIP because I have non accompanying minors or now that we have sent everything I am almost done. Please I am really stressed. Also I just had a baby and I sent her bcert copy as proof that our relationship is genuine and continuing.

Im here to share good news this time! We received today an email from CIC with the acceptance for the sponsorship yeeeeiiii!!

Since we live in Quebec now we need to send our provincial application! But we still have 2 questions ... I have not done my medical, are they going to send me instructions to do it or I have to do it now?

Second q. is: We send with all our docs. an application for my OWP I'm I supposed to get it soon since the sponsorship has been approved or when will it come?

i have a similar timeline as urs, also filed application in Feb 2012, and got request for additional suppl. documents regarding our relationship, police cert, medical check up in October, I sent them all later in Nov, but i was given AIP and OWP a month later. (in Dec 2012).

Do you call CIC to check if your suppl. documents were received?? I did that 2 weeks after I sent out the package. I'm not sure if this would help but this is what i've done.

I guess u may also consider ordering your FOSS file though I hvnt received mine and not sure if it will give any new / useful information.

I guess is faster since it is a bit different, the difference is that the sponsorship has to be approved 1st by Canada AND after by Quebec, also at the same time I have to apply to Quebec for a Certificate of Selection (Basically I need to prove that Im qualified to live in QC, since Quebec is the only province that actually selects its residents).

So at the end my guess is that it takes the same time, since we have to do twice step 1 if you wanna put it like that.

That is why I was asking about the OWP and the medical exam... Does anyone has any info about it?

I do hope we get AIP soon, Reading about file transfers before AIP is a horrible nightmare and makes me paranoid sometimes. But I guess just hope for the best and as long as the relationship is real , we shouldn't have to worry.
