Hi,

I am going to tell you what to do: wait = (

They received my medical results almost 3 months after i got my AiP. I got my AiP in April and I am still waiting for any news about my landing interview.

There are many ppl who got both stages approval but there are also a lot of ppl who wait months to get the 2nd stage approval.

All we can do is wait, unfortunately.

abc3896, have you asked CIC call center if they have received your medical result or not? It's not clear that your medical results are still unavailable. Does it mean that they haven't received it? I called CIC call center before I got my AIP, and the agent could check and told me that they received my medical result even though I could not see it on my e-cas.

Hey Guys!

Does anyone got AIP, whose application was received by Vegreville after October 5th, 2010????? :) :) :)

TO Love_Young Hey! Have you had a chance to update the list yet?:)))) :) :) :)

A friend of mine got both stages approval on last thursday, her application was received on the 12th of October 2010.

LANDED TODAY AT VANCOUVER OFFICE!!! :)

I landed today as PR at the Vancouver office at 8:30. Hubby and I got there at 8:10 and the room was almost full. After announcing the schedule, we moved to the opposite room with numbered seats. The seats had the COPR on it and we had to look for our names. Sponsors/family members were seated behind us. A short presentation was shown : what being a PR means, rights, privileges, etc. That took about just about 10 mins. After that we were called one by one. It took a while because the immigration officers were kinda chatty :P They were really nice and accommodating. When it was my turn, hubby sat beside me. I handed her my COPR (after checking if all info. are correct), passport, fees receipt, and picture. She only took 1 picture because the other 1 is just a back up in case there's scratches. So guys don't get more than 2 as you'll be just wasting your money. They'll only get 1! She asked me stuff about my work and hubby's work. Nothing formal. More of just friendly chat trying to make us feel comfortable. She also asked me the "3 questions" and sign. Told us we have to wait for PR card before traveling outside Canada as COPR is not enough/valid to use for entry. After that, that's it! PR card in about 8 weeks.

She shook our hands and said: "Welcome to Canada!" :)

It was a very exciting and happy day for me... :) Thank you everyone and to everyone else waiting, hang in there! :-*

Hi AmandaHsu... Long time hope your keeping well. . i did reply to your message dont know if you get it?.
I have a question for everyone or anyone who would klnow. If i collect Unemployment Insurance say if i got pregnant is that a form of social assitance?. I have been contributing some money into this and EI has been coming out of my paycheck. Am just wondering if because its been conming out of my paycheck if its considered or if my hubby will have to pay back ?? Someone please let me know .. just curious.
Hi BB, nope is not a form of social assistance `cause you are paying for it...EI takes a poucentage from every pay you get... Social Assistance is when you applied for it... ok:)

Hi everybody,

I have a question. When one can get both stage of approval at the same time and when not? I asked to an CIC agency and she said that it is not possible to get both at the same time. I am asking this because I am really hoping I can get both at the same time.

Cheers

Obviously those agents don't know nothing. There's a lot of us who got approved on both stages at the same day or a few days after. I don't think there is a guideline what can and cannot be approved. Totally dependent on the IO who's handling your case.

CEC......Theresa_Lynn......GiGi......others who applied in June 2010 I was wondering that people in August september 2010 getting both stage approval together what happen to our files after police clearance? these people getting both stage approval, do they already sent their police certificate too? or immigration doesn't want anything from them, only we alone are criminals? ha ha ha

Hi Pepe261!

Agents don't know anything, they're totally useless in respect to application processing. I've called them few times myself and the only answer they gave me was one and the same thing, that we will send you a letter, blah-blah-blah. That is of course only my experience, may be other people managed to get more out of them.

At the same time they can answer other general questions related to visitor visas, either it's ok to travel, etc, so they're not totally useless ;)

Goog luck in waiting!

I hope to get my letter in mail today/tomorrow and will update on what does it say ASAP.

Stay tuned! 8)

I think it depends on the period when your background, RCMP and medical checks have been begun.
Usually these procedures are a part of the second stage of application processing.
But if these checks have been started before AIP, than an applicant has a chance to get both stage approvals at the same time.

If you read some posts of this topic from people, who got their FOSS notes and mentioned that their RCMP checks have been requested before AIP (for example, Love_Yonge), you can notice later that they received both stage approvals..

So far, you know, this is only my supposition...
