Hey guys so glad to see you guys get good news. Congratulations!

Hi. Crazylucy. Can I ask you a question that after you sent your police thing

Did your ecas say that "We received the requested information" ?

Not yet. I'm waiting for them to open it up. It's still in the mail queue from what the agents on the phone were telling me. I've been trying to ask someone what date the mail queue was on, but no one seems to know.

This is a really great week :D

Hope to hear more good news...

Thanks everybody for best wishes.

Does anyone know, this time how long it will take to get PR card after final interview? Planning to go to my in-laws country.

thanks everyone...

now the wait for the landing letter... then 8 more weeks for the PR card...

can someone confirm we cannot go to the US by land travel without the PR card?

Hi Ocean_end,

with your student permit, work permit, PR papers, PR card you can go to USA but you need USA visitor visa for sure by land area. Even canadian citizen passport holder also has tough process at USA border now.

PR itself is not enough to cross the border. You still need a passport, and visa.

So, I called them up to ask about whats going on with my police certificate. They said that they're still working on mail at the end of August. They also have my medicals, but they're just not on my ECas. How odd. Oh well...More waiting to do.

You could cross the border without your PR card, you need to bring your documentation and proper travelling document (passport) and they will let you re-enter Canada because your file will be in the system. The problem with commercial transportation is that airlines get fines (5,000$ per passenger) if they allow any passenger without the valid travel documentation, that is Passport + Visa, or PR card... this explanation was given to me by a CIC employe, serving form more than 25 years.

with my OWP expiring Feb 1st, do I still need to renew it? I don't need it anymore with PR correct?
I can't apply for US visa till I have my PR card correct? or just wait after landing?

This is the real issue (I work for an airline), but that will be the problem coming back from the US in any commercial transportation (you don't have that problem if you drive)
I think the question here is about the visa to the US... in that case will depend on the passport... If is from a country that needs visa to the US, PR will help (not guarantee, but very helpful) to get the visa... if is from one of the countries that are "exempted" you can get your visa on the internet, and again the PR will help.
Canada knows you are a resident (even without the PR) but the US no.

I am somewhere in this "additional document" queue. I am waiting for them to apply my police clearance to my file and then I should be granted PR.
