Thanks everyone for the update. Took me about an hour to look through the pages. Now I am sure I will get some of your things wrong so just correct me later and I will fix it. Okay, so now to try and put it into the chart. I can tell you all though, it is a big update. Lol.

Not a big deal, really. I'm just glad I'll be able to work soon. Police certificates take about 3-4 months to even be acknowledged, right?

Hello folks!

I am writing to you guys because I will have the landing interview in a week. I would like to know if any you you, who have gone thru the interview already, have any advice or comments.
Also, I have a question. should I bring pictures and proofs of our marrige, etc? We sent pictures of our wedding and travels together, but....

Any help will be fully appreciated!

Hello Pepe, if it is just a landing interview, it has nothing to do with your relationship or needing more evidence. The landing interview is just a formality to make sure to tell you of your rights and responsibilities, to make sure everything is spelt correctly on documents, and to sign a couple of documents. What does your e-Cas say?

I will be doing a very long overdue update to the chart. This will involve going through 42 pages and a month and a half of news to go through. I would just like to say, please be patient as I am working to have this updated in the next few hours. I am going Black Friday shopping today so the latest it should be put out is 12-1 am Newfoundland time.

If you have gotten good news in the past month and a half, I recommend that you put your news in an easy/quick format for me to understand if you haven't already, ESPECIALLY if you are a new member.

Please list the following (be as accurate as possible, please):
1. Date application was received
2. Date application started processing
3. Date you were approved for AIP (date listed on the letter you received)
4. Date of landing
5. Landing city

I will wait about 10-20 minutes to see if anybody updates with the following. If not I will go ahead and update then edit/re-post chart with new information as it comes in.

OMG this is 2nd stage approval! We got AIP November 15,2011. This is a celebration for us!

I would like to thank everyone here for all the answers and support that I got from this long journey. This is really an awesome site. For all those still waiting, just hang in there and be positive...Prayers really work!

Congratulations, abisehiyo. i am really happy for you. my wife is still waiting for the AIP letter. not sure how long we'll have to wait for the 2nd stage. hopefully we'll just be as lucky as you.

Hey ly, it is so good to see u in here again. There was no jump this week for us inlanders. Can u believe it? I know they are short staffed in the summer but now too. The wait now says almost 12 months.

Just a quick question from the pro ( ly) lol, I decided to order Foss notes even though I probably will not understand anything. Lol. I think I downloaded the proper form which is the access to information and personal information request. In section a where it says client information and then requesters reference number, what do we put there.

Also in section c it says we have to pay. Do I have the correct form?

At the bottom of the page it gives me an address in Ottawa to send the forms. I thought there was a fax number?

Also, if it appears that your AIP date is different it is because by the time e-Cas updates you on it, the decision had been made 2 days before that. So that is what I put. Hey there, I am so glad to be back here and to get the time to update the chart for you all. Took me about 3 hours, lol. Oh my. I am a bit rusted on it. I really can't believe how much they have slowed, it is ridiculous and my heart aches every time for those still waiting. How hard it must be to go through that. There really is no excuse for this amount of wait.

Haha, shoot I am not pro. Lol. I will try though.
1. You don't put anything for the requestor's reference number that is usually for someone (like a lawyer/consultant requesting on your behalf)
2. Yes you have the right form. Don't fill out this part, this is for outlanders who have to pay $5 for the GCMS notes. Just be sure to have "Privacy Act" in Section A checked off.

As a bonus you may want to fill this form out so their is no delay in receiving notes which they feel is private to your husband because it has your information. Just include it with your FOSS note request. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/release-info.asp

Their is a fax number, just type in fax or something along the lines to search in this thread and you should be able to find it. I always just mailed my forms to Vegreville. You don't have to send them to Ottawa. Hope all of this helps.

Thanks, I don't usually list DM date unless someone got AIP/DM at the same time as they are the same date then. So I usually list AIP date. Can't wait to find out your landing date. Congrats again.

Hi LY! Thanks for the chart update and for the welcome. I was going to tell you if you need any help with this latest update let me know. However, i was late to the party. If you would still like any help, I will be willing to put some time in. This past week has been a little crazy but for good reason. I know you are really busy with work and just having doing life stuff. Thank you for the update, I know many appreciate the hard work it takes to update it.

I landed on Wednesday. Let me tell you a little story...HA!
We went to the CIC office in Niagara Falls and I was quite surprised how easy it was. We paid our fees then went into the interview office. We chatted a bit about how long I've been here ect. ect. All she asked me was had I committed a crime/been convicted of a crime while in Canada, been asked to leave or refused entry into Canada. My answer was no. She showed me my record of landing, asked me to read it to make sure all of it was true. Read me my rights and responsibilities, I initialled where applicable, signed on the card. Then we chatted a little and she said "welcome to Canada." HOWEVER.....(I'm a Silva, there always has be a "but")....

when I showed her my pictures for my p.r. card, THEY WERE THE WRONG SIZE! She said its ok, we went through the interview, paid our $490 fees and she directed us to the Walmart down the street. She said we could just bring our photos back and she'd give us our receipt and my landing papers. So off to Walmart we went. I might say the Niagara Falls Wal-mart is quite nice. The girl took my pictures and told me that they guaranteed their photos so hubby and I left feeling happy. We returned to the CIC office, brought our photos to the officer and WRONG AGAIN!!!! . So back in the car, off to WM and ready to give the girl a piece of my mind. Instead of the girl who did my pics, another person helped us and he knew right off the bat, when I explained what I was there for, the pictures were wrong. He took the right size and apologized (other person said, "I checked 3 times.") I know mistakes happen. I was just tired and quite frankly, just wanted to get things over with. Got my receipt and pictures, went back to the CIC office. Waited for another couple to finish their interview and when she called us to the window, she checked my photos. They were the right ones! Thank goodness! Got my receipt and landing paper. Said "thanks" and went off to the rest of my day, happy and tired. The woman was really nice/understanding about everything.

So there is my story... I wish everyone has a less fantastical landing but just as easy as I had!

I also want to encourage everyone who has just gotten AIP in Ontario to sign up for OHIP the minute you get that confirmation letter. You will get a month knocked off your 3 month waiting period. Good luckeveryone.

Aww thanks californiajeninca. I might take you up on that offer later. Yes, I definitely busier than before and trying to get used to working. Lol. Actually received my first pay cheque today. Yay!!!

You're landing experience sounds all very similar to mine. The officer I had, said that she was afraid that my pictures were barely the wrong size but turns out they weren't. I'm happy about that. Thank you for sharing your landing story and sorry about having such a hard time with your pictures. Hope you will stick around a bit longer. Congratulations and "Welcome to Canada". ;D

Thanks for your reply LY. What if my husband just fills out the form and signs it. Do I still need to attach the form "Release of information to an individual"?

Also, I remember someone saying that if you check off a certain box they actually pull your file out of the pile and your time starts over again? Something like that? Can't remember what the post said.

I didnt put my OWP application with my sponsorship application. I didn't even know that was an option back then. I sent it off on October 3rd of this year, so it should be in the mail right now!
