++Advice is needed++
Last night, I just found out I might get into trouble since I made a mistake on my son's app, it will be great if anyone here can share your opinion with me, thanks advanced.
Case Background:
I applied inland last Nov 3 and I put my son's name as Darn since this name sounds quite similar as his Chinese name and also his father (my ex-husband) wants to give the name to kid for some personal reasons.
Later on, my son went to have his medical exam and applied his passport this July. When we got his passport, we were surprised that the name on passport was not the one we put. As some people may know that Chinese usually translate their name by Romanization, so our government put "Ta-En" instead of "Darn" on the passport and then we called the government, the answer was " since we didn't provide English birth certificate, so we are not allowed to put the English name on it but we can change it next time when we renew it if we provide the papers they need."
Therefore, the end of this July I sent copies of my son's passport and the medical receipt, also with a letter explaining what happened about the name difference between the application and the passport. However, I haven't seen it updated on Ecas, even though CIC has signed for receiving.
2 days ago, I knew I got approved of AIP, I was so happy but now I've started worried about the "mistake" I made above. Will it become a serious problem to my case? Should I call CIC again for it?
