On a side note? How long does it normally take for a letter from CIC to arrive? We're moving out in 2 days and I can't get through to the call center.

approved whose application was received on October 18th, 2010 and people
from October 5th, 8th and 10th got nothing??? What is going on???

It's always possible that there's a complication in your file. Maybe they didn't receive the RCMP checks yet, maybe they're checking something else.

" well this paragraph means RCMP (Canada Police has completed and you PASSED the check... so you have to wait a few days, not months like we the INLAND 2011 months

oh, my case was sent by Apr,2010.It is almost 15months till now.
It drive me crazy. when i call cic, they said my case was still in security check.

No...as we saw in FOSS notes dated from July 11th, they opened my application in May to extend the visitor status and to issue a new visa. That's it...

Based on the forum's cases, i can say that an average RCMP checks takes about 3-4 months

Hi True Russian,
Call center agents can see when your RCMP check has been started. They also can confirm if it was finished.
But RCMP check results are not displayed on ecas.

So if you want to know details about RCMP checks dates you may order FOSS notes or you may call to the Call Center.
