rubykate: you can't extend a PGWP. There would be no need to since you will become a PR on May 4th. Congrats again!

I meant get an open work permit. Would it matter if im out of status for 4days...and i know this sounds silly but can we bring our baby with us? we dont have anyone to sit for us.

Sure u can bring the baby. I'm bringing my 2 year old with us to my landing tomorrow. If you have AIP I think that means you will have status. You got AIP on the date your e-cas says decision made (I can't search now from my phone what date you said). I know you're on mat leave so if you wanted to check with service Canada if your PWGP expiring 4 days before you land will affect your EI benefits. I doubt it would but still check. Even if you apply for OWP now it will just be a waste of $150 since it will take at least a mth to process. Call them tomorrow.

Yes rubykate, it is okay not to have the letters for AIP yet. Since you are closer to the local office and since the local office is who mails the PR landing interview date letter that is why you got it first. It usually takes Vegreville 7-10 days to get the letters to you so you will be getting them in the mail around probably the 15th to 18th at the latest. Something similar happened to another member not long ago so read back a few pages. It turned out they got their PR letter first and then got their AIP letters a few days later.

Will you let me know what date they signed the AIP letter when you get it in the mail?
If you don't get back to me later about it then I will just put April 6th as the date.

Congratulations. You should be receiving your AIP soon and then you don't have to worry about your work permit extension until the landing interview.

Here is what my ecas says:-

We received your application for permanent residence on June 16, 2010.

We started processing your application on August 26, 2010.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made and you will be contacted.

We sent you a letter on April 6, 2011 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

The interview is in regina sk. I did not get any aip letter yet though. Is this cause for concern? Please let me know. I am so excited though. We will have to take my 1month old little girl to the interview since i am on mat leave and there is no one to babysit. My post grad wrk permit expires end of April, should i renew this too considering my interview is on May 4th?

Congratulation !!!! This is great news !
I have a question for you about the mexican police report..my partner lived in Mexico for more than 6 months so we will have to provide the police certificate...Did you receive the request from CIC before asking for it?? Your are doing both federal and for the state ? DO they provide you with step by step ?

thank you ...and Congrats again !!!!

Thanks sa_ja.

Yes we did get a letter from CIC requesting both federal and the state police clearance and did not provide step by steep. Sort of we found out reading the link at CIC Website and the post from other member of this forum whom have done it before.

Basically what you have to do is ask the consul of Mexico in your city to write a letter to the PGR on your behalf requesting you CONSTANCIA of datos registrales, then you have to make 3 set of fingerprints (you can doit at a local police station) and send them with the letter and carta poder to one of your relatives in mexico. That relative has to go to Mexico City (PGR) and request your Constancia. The PGR will have it within 5-10 business days.

We are at that point. We have to get the letter from the consul but i'm waiting from my parents to send me the documents that prove i'm mexican. CBSA seize all my id's including my passport and they will not released until the sponsorship application process is finished.

I wish all the luck. Hopefully this info helps you. ;)

CONGRATULATIONS gigi1612 that is AMAZING news! :D
Thank you for sharing that very lovely story with us.
Time for you both to continue to celebrate. What office were you interviewed at?

Thanks Love_Young.

Yes, we still celebrating. Just the two of us at home with some wine. We already went for dinner and some drinks :P

We are dealing with Scarborouh office. It took 24 months to get the AIP, but it's all worth it, so hang in there, your AIP is coming soon!!! :D

Hi guys:

So I got my letter today but it does not mention AIP at all. It just says that I need to attend the interview on May 4th with my husband to finalize my PR application. Also, it is mentioned i have to bring my passport, 2 pics and all permits i have had in Canada. Did anyone receive this type of letter? What is the interview about?

Thanks,

Congrats!!!! You will be landing soon :P

Oh yeah, I am very sorry I just now remembered to post the poll results.
Thanks everyone for voting!

75% of you think the new posted processing date will be June 16th to June 20th
25% of you think the new posted processing date will be June 11th to June 15th
0% of you think the new posted processing date will be June 6th to June 10th
0% of you think the new posted processing date will be somewhere past June 20th

Let's see how right we are this time. Good luck everyone!

Good morning all. Still no update on my part but I am looking forward to the update on the CIC website. It's a rainy day where I am, so no yard work today. We bought some patio furniture yesterday, i guess it's going to have to wait to put it out. I hope we hear some good news today :)

Good morning everybody!! I hope this week our papers can go fast like they did last week.
Big hugs and God bless you!
