Why would anyone do an upfront medical exam when the first stage of inland sponsorship takes 11 months?
It will surely expire before it is needed in the process and you have to begin again.

Isn't that the case?

When the 1st stage takes 11 months, doing the medical upfront becomes moot point. Even with the extension on medical report, it will likely expire before you land. Everyone have to land before their medical report expires. This is mandatory. If I was applying for sponsorship now and saw that it takes 11 months, I would rather wait until CIC ask for it. Would hate having to pay another huge bill on a second medical exam.

This is a mistake that me and my girl made.

We're living together in Canada now.

She did the medical exam two weeks before we submit our app. 11 month wait.......

I have no idea if they're going to ask for an updated medical exam... but if they do, she'll have to do it again and that means we've paid twice -.-
we're not angry though.... what can you do??? thats life, people make mistakes haha

on the other hand...if there are no other concerns with our application..maybe just maybe the fact we sent in police, medical, and full fee's up front, might streamline the process, and we'll get approval and wont need to resubmit medicals.. ...but thats probably wishful thinking.

It is sort of a gamble. Don't we all hope we will be one of those few lucky ones who’s file magically gets processed quicker than the standard time? Lol ;D

I’ve heard some ppl quoting really high costs for the medicals, but ours was just under $100, so for that amount we felt better to include it just in case, and just get it again if/when required.

I think I will wait to get mine done if the timeline is that long ::) Its going to make the process longer either way because if I do it before I send it in and it will expire before then so then I'll just have to get it done again then why bother til they ask right? ::)

I had a medical done in February and would still be valid for a couple months (at the time I applied).
Otherwise I'm waiting for CIC to ask for new medical. In Canada, it doesn't take donkey years for results to be filed (as was the case in Nairobi).

Yeah, I did mine ahead of time and will likely have to do another, but we wanted the "entire package" to be submitted at the start in hopes of it going through speedily. If I need a new one, oh well, if that's all that goes wrong I'll be happy. :p

I'll get one done maybe 10 1/2 months from when I submit my application. What is the process for doing something like that? Can that be submitted online or do I have to do that through mail?
