Hi,

Long time reader here - thanks to all those who post here, this forum has been a huge help to our application process.

A quick question -

My partner and I submitted out family class PR sponsorship application with open work permit approx 10 days ago and, as expected, have yet to received acknowledgement of receipt.

We have a wedding to go to in Toronto and are flying from Vancouver tomorrow. My current work permit expires tomorrow and will of course not be working this summer while our PR application is reviewed etc.. I believe I am currently on implied status but cannot work because my last visa was an IEC.

Does anyone know if I am going to have to be able to prove that I have applied for PR and if so what should I bring? I had planned to print out the payment receipt for both PR and the open work permit as proof. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

None of that stuff will be required, both Vancouver and Toronto are within Canada. As such you won't be crossing any international borders. All you need is a government issued photo ID to prove that you match the name on the e-ticket. The fact that you have submitted a PR application will be no concern of theirs.

AFAIK, you don't need to prove anything to the airline, since you are flying within Canada (and therefore will not be going through immigration at YVR or YYZ airport.

You should just need your boarding pass and photo ID.
