It's been exactly 8 months for me this weekend. I called a few months back to update my email address and to ask whether my new medical had ever been received. They requested it when I got AIP in September, I did it in the 3rd week of September, and my ECAS never updated with "medical received". According to the call center agent, they did receive it, but still nothing going on on ECAS at all. He didn't want to tell me anything else about my progress because the 8 months had not passed yet at that point.

Now that the 8 months have passed, I'm not sure what to do. Call again? Contact MP? I wish I would at least know why it's taking so long. I should be an easy case one would think, no kids prior to this relationship, not previously married or common law, have been legally employed in Canada for almost 5 years now, never traveled outside Europe or North America, and never longer than a couple of weeks. I did move house a lot, though, and lived with a string of different roommates, I wonder if that makes me suspicious somehow and the background check takes really long?

You should order your GCMS notes. Since you are in Canada there is no charge for doing so (it is a "privacy act" request). That will tell you the status of your application.

You can also contact your MP and the call centre should be able to advise you as to the status of your application.

I just don't think it has anything to do with you. It is paperwork processing. But now that 8 months is over, make that call, get those notes!

Ecas changed to DM.... medicals received. But nothing else. I assume they will send a letter.

22 Months.

You make you guys always check your "spam folder," because CIC emails always go there!

Hi Everyone

I received a letter from CPC V saying that processing of application is done and I have to wait from CIC Scarborough.
I have no clue when I will get an appointment.

On the other hand my wife's parent is sick and she wants to go vist them, but I am not too sure if She has to be present in the interview.

Does anyone have any clue how to deal with this?

thanks

Ericc let me know if you hear anything.

On friday I got CIC letter dated may 13th saying that the process of my permanent residence application is done and Vancouver office will contact me. I don't have any clue when Vancouver office will give me appointment.
My E-case changed too:
We received your application for permanent residence on June 13, 2011.

We started processing your application on June 23, 2011.

A decision has been made and you will be contacted.

Medical results have been received.

We sent you a letter on May 13, 2013 to ........, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us.
what questions can I expect during the interview? What is the process of interview?
What can I bring with me?

I heard within a week of receiving DM. The landing date was 2 months later.
Bring the paperwork that Vancouver sends you. Your ID, current passport etc. Your spouse! Proof of paying the fee.
Oh, yes and the photos!!!!! The Vancouver office sends you specific information on the photos take that with you to the photo place.

That is all I needed. They didn't even ask any questions of my spouse or ask to see his ID.
You will watch a video in English and then in French. Then you will be called up to the desk and processed there.
The staff was very nice in Vancouver. Parking is tricky, give yourself time to find the parking and to find the center. We parked at a friend's condo nearby.

Hi everyone.

I finally landed today after 23 months and 15 days of the waiting game!

I wish lots of patience and all the good luck for those who are still waiting.

Cheers!

Hi

Wait till you get the letter
My husband came with me but didn't, have to. In fact he stayed with our young son in the waiting area

I know some people get their landing letters and it states your sponsor must attend, mine didn't,.

Congrats on DM. Hope you haven't too long to wait
