hey guy i have a very stupid thing to ask i have a landing interview on jan 16 if i have to ans yes to been deported before was never denied entrance but was ask to leave canada with the say is deported wowwww any way do you guyz think there will be any problem no crime just thought i will put that in just to clear it up

It won't be an issue - they already know about your removal order and it's been resolved - otherwise you wouldn't have a landing interview. The interview is really mostly a formality - you've declared all your dependents and you don't have any criminal issues (that have not previously been disclosed).

Congratulations!! What a long wait!
Did u get AIP before?? When was it?

Happy new year everyone!

I feel very depressed!

We received your application for permanent residence on July 20, 2011.

We started processing your application on August 12, 2011.

We received the requested information on January 6, 2012. Thank you for providing the information.

A decision has been made and you will be contacted.

I received the AIP and open work permit on June 6, 2012, and since then I have never heard from CIC any more.
I noticed that there are so many people alreayd landed even though they submmited the application later than me.
I have been waiting for seven months and I am so worried.
Now CIC also speeds up for the first stage and it only takes 5-6 months. It took me 11 months to wait for the first stage to be approved.

I called the call centre but they don't help anything. I feel so helpless.

Is there anyone who has the similar situation with me? Just hope to get some support from you guys because my patience is losing now.

Thank you!

Dear ViviTaylor, feeling a little low myself. Just tired of waiting like everyone else.
The most ironic fact in this situation is that we are not allowed to work until after first stage approval, when we've just proved we don't need to work because our spouses can support us. So, they give us work permits ONLY after proving we don't need them. A true Alice Down the Rabbit Hole moment.

Start here: http://cas-ncr-nter03.cas-satj.gc.ca/portal/page/portal/fc_cf_en/Practice_Guide_Immigration

I'd strongly recommend you speak with an attorney. If you wish to do this on your own, I'd suggest looking for decisions in cases that are similar to yours (you can search canlii.org for example) and then order a copy of the dockets for those cases - that will show you the general format of the filings and you can use that as a basis of your own filings. You can request a copy at the Registry. If you wish a copy, there is a charge (40 cents per page) but there is no charge for just looking at the filings at the Registry.

The fee to file is $50. You'd be requesting what is known as "Mandamus".

Did you mean that you already have/ are expecting a refusal? We're in a similar situation... we've been waiting for a decision for over 2 weeks now, which we're sure will be a refusal. So if it ends up working out that way we'll definitely be going down the Court road depending what kind of advice we get from lawyers.

We sent in our application in October 2011 btw

Do I need LMO for renewing OPEN WORK PERMIT?

Hey there, I need your insights. I obtained my OWP along with my first stage of approval of permanent residency under family class sponsorship last Dec.2012 however my OWP expireson July 2013. I am wondering if should I apply for extension yet? And Do I need LMO from an employer upon renewing that? Or just file an extension with my PR application number.

Also, can anyone tell me how long should I roughly wait after first stage approval. I have done my medicals already for my PR as the immigration asked for one.

Thanks. Hope You can help me with this.

No. The forms are generic, you will have to be a bit creative in filing them out ("None" or "Not applicable"). But you do not need an LMO.

It's a little early to apply. As long as you apply before the expiration date (even one day) then you are covered by "implied status". There's actually no benefit to applying early and if you land before they get to processing your application they refund the fee - Permanent Residents are not eligible for a work permit.
