Open work permit usually takes almost 2 months. I applid online on August 27, after i recieved my aip letter until now i have no news. I was hoping to land before they process that one so i can refund the processing fee but till now no 2nd stage approval yet. Its been more than one month and my husband is going away for a month.

ya it the same with me my husband and kids are going away for dec and i have been waiting sine june for stage 2 i just give up and going to get work permit to distract me we should keep in touch lol

8th Sept, 2012 - Decision has been made - letter sent
12th Sept,2012 - letter arrived
19th Sept,2012 - 2.letter arrived from Vancouver office (obviously file transfer to Vancouver office )
24th Sept,2012 LANDED!!!!! (Exactly 1 year & 7 months)

I got AIP in 24th of Feb, 2012 and I applied the open work permit right on that day, and they sent it 5 days later (on-line application)

And I was right there was any problem with my application (except that I am from Hungary, which make the process longer A cigok miatt...) there was no interview either....

There was no interview in Vancouver (although I did not get AIP & final decision in the same time)

I had several study permit during/before the process, then when I got AIP I applied online the open work permit and I got it 5(!!) days later!! Right before my last study permit would have expired. So if you have status, immigration wont let you lose it, but if you do not have status (legal) in the time of your application than open work permit could take longer time.

Application received 10th April 2012
AOR- 27 July, 2012

They sent me Client History Update form (because I made a mistake with my background app) on August 1, 2012. I filled it out and the mailing company said they've received it on 15th August.
Ecas says only: Application received 10th April.

Does that Client History Update form causes any delays? Do you think they will consider my app as one sent in April or they will consider it as one from August (means 4 months delay)
Please if you know something, if you have received such Update Form or have heard anything share it.

I had 2 client history update (and I did not make any mistake) if you send back ASAP it wont cause delay

We also got a background update form included with our AOR back in feb 2012 and we filled and sent it back asap, it did not delay the process at all in our case. I don't think ECAS will show that kind of information as it doesn't change before AIP for sponsorship and in process for PR when you are in 2nd stage processing...
