Hi guys!

Did any of you guys from sept/oct 2011 applicants sent in the generic application where you print out the barcode at the end or did you send in the normal application forms for spousal sponsorship? Reason I'm asking is to determine if the generic version will be processed faster or if its the same as the old one thus we will only see faster processing times once all of the new application are the barcode ones? I had my entire application ready to send off and then I read online that they introduced the generic application, so decided to do it all over with the generic one. Any thougths on that?

Wanted to let you guys know that my wife got her Open Work Permit / AIP on July 25, 2012, and CIC had received her application originally on Sept. 12, 2011.

And to answer the above question, we ended up transferring the entire application to the 'Bar-Code' version. Originally we had done it on the old forms, but noticed right before sending in that new forms had come out, and decided to change our application over.

Good luck to everyone!

hi nilyam,
just wondering to ask if what cic you had your interview?i got my landing interview last june 14 in edmonton cic but until now i havent got my pr card, almost 6 weeks already..

You are way expecting it too soon. only six weeks???. The card according to CIC site can take any where from 8-10 weeks so 60 to 70 days. Good luck. you still have about 3 weeks wait time ahead.

The card isnt really important unless you need to badly travel. IF not wait patiently even if it take 6 months.

I renewed my passport last year but didn't give it to CIC. They started processing my PR last July 19th. Should i just give a copy of my passport eventhough they are not asking for it. I didn't receive any letter saying that they need additional documents like renewed police clearance, renewed passport or redo medical like some applicants I've read on here. My old passport expire December 2012

\thanks in advance for your reply

I haven't heard back from the CIC yet, but we also filed out the old application then before we sent it in noticed the new application and did the new bar code one. So we shall see!
Good luck everyone!!

Hii Has any one from June AIP batch received 2nd stage ?

Its so strange I got My AIP on June 13 2012 and same day it show my Medical Received ( though I sent it in july 2011 ) ....Nothing after that !

This system sucks 1st you wait for AIP than you wait for 2nd stage ...Our case is straight forward no dependent s no issue's..but still !

Any way ..keep on posting guys ..this is the only forum which helps in knowing the real time frame.

good luck and Congrats to those who have got their AIP or waiting for it :)

I am in the exact same situation!
AIP on June 13, medical results have been received.

Hey, does anyone know about this?
If I wait to apply for OHIP until I land, will they still go by the date of the AIP letter issued, so 3 months counting from June 13? Or am I wasting time every day I do not apply for it?
I'd rather wait, also because there is a spelling mistake in my name on the AIP letter.. and I am full of hope landing might happen soon!

Good luck everyone!

hi every one last night my io called me saying that my return to Canada fee was incorrect and i nee to bring in more money i then had the time to ask her why is stage to taking so long she told me its because of the mistakes in the fee so i took that change today and paid my pr fee as well she told me now i have to wait for my next bring forward date with i think is September 30 hoping there is no more problems getting so tired

I cant believe they finally updated it after like what, half a year? What the heck?

I know, its crazy eh?....i just got my work permit Tuesday, and i applied on September 9th 2011, now its just a waiting game for the rest.

Ok, so they updated the processing date to September 20th and our application was received... september 20th! So that means they're processing us right? ;)

Since we moved to quebec after applying and haven't done CSQ yet, I guess we shouldn't expect the OWP right away? Anyone have a similar case?
