Everytime they do an update it seems to be a couple of weeks behind. So I am thinking CanadianCitizen you should be getting a letter next week.
Good luck! It was 11 to 12 months.
Thank youPERK I love positive people... ;)

11 months (initial assessment)... hum.. I forgot what was before ::)

Here's summary of the last 2 updates:

ON Feb 23, 2012 : Now processing March 8, 2011
ON Feb 29, 2012 : Now processing March 22, 2011
ON Mar 7, 2012 : Now processing April 11, 2011

Looks like the formula used by Processing Period Chart is this:
An average of 17 days of jump for every 1 week

If my Math is correct, applying geometric series estimation, this means cutting the processing time for Stage 1 every month. So that means, by April 2012, they will be processing June 2011 applications. Then by June 2012, they will be processing Oct 2011. Then by July 2012, they will be processing Dec 2011 applications.

where are you guys seeing the processing time. pls post the link as i am checking and still says march 22

Hey Gemaru, how did they contact you? we're waiting for that now, but i'm afraid if they call we wont be able to answer as they have my husband's number and he works till 5 everyday and can't answer the phone at all!

I am not sure about the Math but it makes us feel good so it must be right.

Hi guys! I would like to give you a quick update on my file. I finally received a letter from CIC about my AIP and they say that I have to re-do my medical. Ah, I hoped so much that I would get the second stage but now seems like it will be postponed for another 2-3 months... My medical was expired for quite a long time (3 months). I only hope they won't ask me for another police cert. after that! But AIP is good too, like Gemauru said earlier, you can almost have a normal life with it!

You're welcome... but you know what is scary?

Is a regular letter sent by regular mail with the day and time for the interview. At the bottom it has the following note:

IMPORTANT

Failure to appear for this interview may be interpreted as evidence that you are no longer seeking permanent residence in Canada and your file may be closed. For any questions you may contact the Call Centre at 1-800-242-2100

Can you imagine if that letter get lost in the mail? :o
