Inland App 2013, 2014 members Please Help

2013-14 Inland members Would you please be kind enough to tell me if "Open Work Permit" can be filed along with the Inland Spouse app? Or only after getting the first stage approval AIP?

How did you guys do it??? I've been searching this forum, looking in past threads for similar situation but couldn't find nothing.


In my case Post Grad Work Permit (PGWP) person is the applicant/sponsored for Inland app so things are little different.

1) On Page 1 of form IMM 5710, what should be ticked marked for Question 3.
"I'm applying for one or more of the following"
I've four options, what option(s) should I select?
a) Work Permit with same employer
b) An initial work permit or a work permit with a new employer
c) Restoration of your status as a worker (N/A in our case)
d) Temporary resident permit

2) On Page 2 COMING TO CANADA section Question 4 "If applicable, provide the document number of the most recent Visitor Record, Study Permit, or Work Permit issued to you." Is it the client id or some other number on PGWP?

3) On Page 3 DETAILS OF INTENDED WORK IN CANADA section Question 2 "Details of my prospective employer"
Do we provide details of Employer? or write N/A? The reason I'm asking is because My wife already has a job and we can attach job offer letter but an open work permit will make no sense then. They might send the WP closed then or ask for an LMO, if the officer misunderstands that .
i) Same page Question 4 and 5 "Occupation in Canada will be" "Length of employment will be"

Do we send this as a separate application with postage on it along with Inland app? coz this work permit will be processed in Vegreville, AB and Inland app will be processed in Mississauga, ON.

I know all of you are eagerly waiting on your application to be processed and it's taking way longer than it should take.

Hasn't this question been answered yet...in one of the dozens of posts of yours?

You can send the OWP with the Inland application. Even though the OWP is still being processed in Vegreville, Alberta you send it with your Inland application to Mississauga, Ontario and CIC will route it internally. You should write in big bold letters across the top of the OWP, something like:
OWP SUBMITTED WITH IN-CANADA SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP APPLICATION. PROCESS AFTER AIP.

Because you are not eligible for the OWP until you have AIP, you need to make sure that CIC does not process it before AIP, because it would be denied.

I can't answer your specific questions because there have been MANY discussions as to whether or not a PGWP can continue to work for the same employer with an OWP, under `implied status'.

Many people simply use the OWP to give them implied status so that they can legally remain in Canada during the PR process. It's tricky when a PGWP holder submits an OWP, wanting to continue to work, under this implied status.

As above. Regarding your app questions:

1) you choose b
2) there should be a document number on top of the work permit, that's the one.
3) you don't need to fill those. You can leave that section or put N/A or (as I had done when I had applied for working holiday OWP), you can write "open work permit" in the employer field.
