Experts. Kindly advice.

I am from India and my birth certificate contains initials instead of my full surname and therefore it mismatches with my passport. My first name is correct in both though. Will the VO be picky about it when I apply for my PR ? Its a common practice in Southern India to put initials where people have long names and have house names as their surnames.

Do I have to produce an affidavit for it ? Kindly advice.

Thank you in advance.

Is it just the initial issue ? or is there a mismatch between the surname and the initial ?
Submit a covering letter explaining your situation and submit your school certificate just to strengthen the case.

Andy. Thanks for your quick response.
My surname is abbreviated as P.P in my birth certificate where as its fully expanded in my passport. The problem of submitting any of my school certificate is that none of them have my full name. I would rather not submit it to avoid further confusion. Any other suggestions you have is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

If there is no mismatch and your concern is only regarding the initial, it is not a problem. You are good to submit your BC.
