Hi All,
I landed as a new Permanent Resident on Oct 22nd 2010. I called up CIC to check the status of my card 2 weeks back and found out that my pics were rejected and new ones will have to be submitted after I receive a letter from the local office. The file was transferred to the local office, Toronto on Nov 26th. CIC helpline rep. mentioned that I shall receive the letter requesting new pics within 11 weeks. After photo submission, it may take upto 7 weeks to receive the PR card by mail.
Dilemma:
My wife, a Canadian citizen and myself have to travel to Delhi, India in the last week of Jan for about 2 weeks to attend a wedding in the family and obviously, I won't receive the PR card on time. To come back to Canada, I understand that I need a travel doc which is issued from the Canadian Embassy, Delhi.
I went through the Travel Doc. app. and per my understanding - For applicants who have resided in Canada for less than 5 yrs. and have not completed the 730 days residency obligation have to prove/convince the Visa Officer that on issuance of Travel Doc., he/she would come back and complete the 730 day Residency Obligation.
When I apply for the Travel Doc. from Canadian Embassy, Delhi, are there any grounds on which the Visa Officer might refuse the Travel Doc. to me? I don't want to risk losing my status. Will enclosing the following help?:
1. Our apartment lease doc. which is in my wife's name and valid till May 31st 2011.
2. I am still seeking employment and currently giving interview for prospective openings. Should I enclose emails confirming interview schedule?
3. My Bank Account Statement & Driving License
4. My wife's pay stubs
Thank you all for reading my post, your replies will be much appreciated!
