initial assessment

anyone got the inital assessment from Buffalo office, please share .. and I got it in Nov 15, and telling me their inital assessment has been done, and ready for finalizing my file without interview and extra document required :'(, what do you think how long does it take for next step? will they transfer my file to other office??

Hey ...I got letter saying IA done no interview needed neither any documents needed. Around Nov 4-2010 after that haven't heard anything. I guess its same for both of us any idea whats next and how long it might take ??? Thanks

ok, sent case specific inquier email last 22/dec and replied back in 23/dec saying they have requested background checks to other government office(s). So not sure how long will it take. This is after my initial assessment done letter received in oct/29... So we are in the same boat...

thanks for response so that might take sometime ...i was under the impression that after initial assessment it would take couple of months until i receive passport request, which i guess is not true. I tried emailing buffalo they never replied my email though and my Online always shows in process nothing else.

suggestion to you, go here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions/buffalo.asp and select Case Specific Enquiry. That is better. they will respond in probably 24 hours....I will try again tomorrow to see if I get something..

yes, go ahead, I don't pay attention to that. It won't hurt the worse it can happen is you get no answer from them...

I got reply very fast ...but they still didnt tell me anything just said "its in process"

I sent last night when the link was uploaded and I got reply in morning, I don't know how long its gonna take getting frustrating now that they don't tell anything. Whats the next step anyways they will ask for passport if everything goes ok?

yes, that's the last step..they send you the pspt's with landing form, you have to go to the border and come back..I am already in Canada with a WP...I live here since 2008

i already sent e-mail to Buffalo for status, same reply " your application is under process, we are unable to ..."

yes, that's the last step..they send you the pspt's with landing form, you have to go to the border and come back..I am already in Canada with a WP...I live here since 2008
